Conclusion of the
“Leadership” Conference in Qatar to Promote the Development of Muslim
Youth with Islamic Identity and Values
The first edition of the “Leadership:
Aspirations and Development of Muslim Youth in Qatar” conference concluded
yesterday evening, Saturday, in Doha. The event emphasized the importance of
adopting a human-centered leadership concept grounded in values derived from
Islamic culture, contributing to a positive impact on individuals’ lives and
the building of communities.
Wide Participation from Qatari
Youth
The two-day conference was held at the
“Multaqa” at the Students’ Center of Education City under the patronage of
Qatar International Islamic Bank, with the participation of over a thousand
students from various schools and universities across Qatar.
Conference attendees engaged in interactive
and discussion sessions, addressing ways to confront contemporary challenges.
They listened to a distinguished group of scholars, thinkers, and influencers
who emphasized the importance of reinforcing and nurturing Islamic identity
based on faith and knowledge.
A Leadership Model from the
Perspective of “The Good Life“
During the opening session of the second
day, Her Excellency Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani,
Chairperson and Founder of the Good Life Center for Professional Development
and Training and Assistant Professor at Qatar University, presented a
leadership model based on five fundamental pillars: spiritual, psychological,
intellectual, physical, and social.
She highlighted that true leadership
involves unlocking and enhancing the potential of others through humanity,
clear vision, and compassion, stressing the importance of following the
Prophetic model and integrating knowledge with action.
Islamic Identity as the
Foundation of Excellence
Dr. Mutlaq Al-Jasser, preacher and
researcher at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait, called for
the reordering of the nation’s priorities to achieve renaissance, while Sheikh
Salem Al-Ahbabi, Director of the Ibn Al-Zubair Scientific Center, emphasized
the importance of religion, language, and history in shaping identity.
Dr. Omar Suleiman, founder and president of
the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, explained that excellence is a way
of life requiring balance and discipline, and that righteous deeds lead to
others of the same nature.
The “BilArabi” initiative also organized two
dialogue sessions during the conference. Mr. Hisham Noreen, Executive Director
of Strategic Initiatives and Programs at Qatar Foundation, stated that the
conference aims to empower Muslim youth and equip them with tools for positive
impact locally and globally, marking the beginning of a series of future events
for the “BilArabi” initiative.
