American
Embraces Islam After Gaza War: “Faith is Resistance, and Justice Comes
from Within

In a poignant human
story with both political and spiritual dimensions, 55-year-old American
Hillary Morris announced her conversion to Islam, stating that the events of
October 7, 2023, and the subsequent war in Gaza were a turning point that
changed the course of her life and beliefs
.

Beginning with the
Quran

Morris, who works in
healthcare, says her first encounter with Islam occurred during her university
studies in a course on religions, where she was introduced to the declaration
of faith (Shahada)
.

She adds,
“Since that time, I would repeat ‘La ilaha illallah’ whenever I felt
anxious, without realizing that it would eventually pave the way for my
spiritual journey
.”

Gaza: The Spark that
Ignited Certainty

The scenes of
bombing and destruction in Gaza after October 7 prompted Morris to explore
Islam more deeply. She explains, “I realized that faith is not merely a
source of personal comfort, but a refuge for entire peoples, like the
Palestinians. About two months later, I declared my Islam—Alhamdulillah
.”

The Collapse of the
Western Narrative

Morris expressed her
shock at the distorted image she had been given of Palestine and Islam through
American media and education. She said, “The veil fell from my eyes when I
learned the true history and understood the extent of the misinformation we had
been subjected to
.”

She emphasized that
her conversion to Islam was not only a spiritual choice but also “an act
of faith and resistance against intellectual and political domination
.”

The Image of Muslim
Women

Morris criticized
the stereotypical portrayal of Muslim women in the West, adding, “The West
depicts itself as a savior of women, yet it neither listens to them nor
understands that true justice comes from the dignity that Islam provides
.”

Field Solidarity
with Gaza

Morris did not limit
herself to the spiritual aspect; she also participated in support campaigns and
donations for displaced people from Gaza and continued attending pro-Palestine
demonstrations
.

She affirms,
“Even if I stand alone in the rain holding a sign, it is part of my faith
and my duty toward the oppressed
.”

A Message of Hope

Morris concluded her
interview with a message to the West, saying, “My story is proof that many
people are beginning to awaken to the falsehood of the prevailing narrative
about Islam and Palestine
.”
