The Emir of Qatar
Hosts an Iftar Banquet for Scholars, Judges, and Education Personnel, with
Participation of Union Scholars
His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin
Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, hosted an iftar banquet this
evening in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, honoring distinguished
scholars, judges, and religious figures, members of the public prosecution, and
personnel from the education and higher education sectors. The event took place
at Lusail Palace.
The banquet was attended by His
Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the personal representative of the
Emir, along with a number of distinguished sheikhs, ministers, and senior
officials.
A group of scholars from the
International Union of Muslim Scholars also participated in the event, led by
His Eminence Professor Dr. Ali Muhyi al-Din al-Qaradaghi, the President of the
Union, along with several deputies and members.
A Heart Close to
the Concerns of Scholars
On this occasion, the President
of the Union expressed his appreciation for attending the gathering in a post
on the social media platform X, stating that he was honored to participate in
the distinguished meeting and pleased to meet His Highness the Emir. He
described the Emir as “attentive and close to the concerns of scholars, keen to
listen, and appreciative of the efforts of those working in the fields of
education and justice.”
He further added that the
gathering “instills reassurance and strengthens confidence, affirming that the
relationship between leadership and the intellectual elite is one of
partnership and shared responsibility.”
He emphasized that the Ramadan
banquet reflects Qatar’s commitment to enhancing communication with scholars,
the judiciary, and educators, reinforcing their status as a fundamental pillar
in the moral and intellectual development of society.
