“Identity
and Commitment”… The Iraqi Fiqh Academy Launches Its 11th Ramadan Season

As part of its
annual preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the Iraqi Fiqh
Academy announced the launch of its major Ramadan campaign, “Change Yourself”,
now entering its eleventh season under the theme “Identity and Commitment”,
coinciding with Ramadan 1447 AH. The campaign underscores the continuity of the
Academy’s religious and social outreach project, highlighting its ongoing
development in terms of vision, content, and societal impact.

The selection of an
annual Ramadan theme has become a longstanding tradition for the Academy since
the inception of its first campaign. Each year, the theme is carefully chosen
to reflect societal needs and respond to contemporary religious, ethical, and
intellectual challenges, while maintaining the overarching slogan “Change
Yourself” as a call for personal reform and community building.

Over the past years,
the Academy’s Ramadan themes have varied in focus, ranging from spiritual
dimensions, as in “So They May Increase in Faith”, to worship-oriented
objectives, as in “Only to Worship”, and extending to social and ethical
themes, such as “Your Home Is a Trust” and “Merciful Among Themselves”. The
tenth season carried the slogan “Act Quickly and Reap Rewards”, urging swift
action to seize the opportunities of worship.

This season’s theme,
“Identity and Commitment”, carries deep significance related to the current
realities and challenges of Iraqi society. Through this theme, the Academy
seeks to reaffirm the authentic Islamic identity and link it to practical
commitment in behavior, ethics, and social conduct—moving beyond theoretical
discourse or abstract proposals—to address pressing societal needs amid rapid
cultural transformations and intellectual pressures.

The campaign is
accompanied by an extensive field program, led by the “Mobile Preaching
Project”, which organizes structured scientific and religious delegations that
travel according to carefully devised plans to various Iraqi provinces,
ensuring maximum outreach to different regions and mosques.

These delegations
cover southern provinces, the middle Euphrates regions, Diyala, northern Iraq,
Anbar across its cities, as well as all areas and suburbs of Baghdad,
reflecting the Academy’s dedication to delivering a moderate and inclusive
religious message to all segments of society.

A large number of
scholars and preachers participate in the campaign through these mobile
delegations and local activities. Lectures and study sessions are conducted
according to precise schedules tailored to the specific needs of each area,
under the direct supervision of the Academy’s Department of Da’wah, which
oversees planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

The campaign is not
limited to preaching; it also includes Ramadan competitions and youth evenings
aimed at encouraging positive engagement, promoting religious knowledge, and
instilling faith-based values in an engaging educational manner, with a particular
focus on youth as a cornerstone of societal reform initiatives.

Through the launch
of this new season of the “Change Yourself” campaign, the Iraqi Fiqh Academy
reaffirms that institutional, well-planned, and continuous religious work is
the most effective path for achieving positive reform, and that Ramadan will
remain an annual occasion for self-reflection, renewing commitments, and
deepening the understanding of identity and commitment in everyday life.
