The President of the Union Receives the Iraqi Ambassador in Doha
to Discuss Cooperation and Support for Islamic Causes

His
Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Muhyiddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International
Union of Muslim Scholars, received His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Jaafar Al-Sadr,
Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the State of Qatar, at the Union’s
headquarters in Doha on Monday afternoon.

During
the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation and
addressed a number of issues concerning the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing support
for scholarly and intellectual efforts as well as strengthening communication
between religious and academic institutions across the Islamic world.

The
discussion also underscored the importance of continuing joint work in a manner
that serves Islamic causes, promotes a spirit of dialogue and understanding,
and contributes to reinforcing the values of moderation and balance.
