Afghan Foreign Minister Meets Pakistani
Jamaat-e-Islami Delegation to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations
On Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mr. Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi,
received a high-level delegation from Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami, led by
Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, the party’s Deputy Emir, in the capital, Kabul.
During the meeting, Muttaqi emphasized the importance
of expanding diplomatic cooperation between Kabul and Islamabad, stressing that
positive relations between the two countries serve the interests of both the
Afghan and Pakistani peoples.
He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of
Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan, particularly its role in hosting Afghan refugees
and supporting regional stability over the past decades.
For his part, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim affirmed
Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to strengthening bonds of brotherhood and
closeness between the two peoples. He praised Afghanistan’s recent developments
and expressed hope for overcoming current challenges and achieving shared
development that contributes to stability on both sides of the border.
