New Zealand and
Australia Witness Largest Pro-Palestine Demonstrations Against Zionist
Extermination

On Saturday, New Zealand saw
protests described as the largest in the country’s history in support of the
Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to
extermination by the Israeli occupation for nearly two years.

Auckland Rises
Against the Israeli Occupation

According to New Zealand’s RNZ
radio, around 20,000 people participated in a march titled “March for Humanity”
in Auckland, starting from Aotea Square and ending at Victoria Park.

Participants called on the New
Zealand government to impose sanctions on Israel for its severe violations in
Gaza. They also demanded an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and the
lifting of the blockade to allow humanitarian aid and the resumption of UNRWA
operations.

Protesters waved Palestinian
flags and chanted slogans such as “Do Not Normalize Genocide” and “Take a Stand
and Support Palestine.”

Nadine Mortaja, spokesperson for
the group Aotearoa for Palestine, said during the event: “This is the largest
march ever organized for Palestine in New Zealand’s history.”

Pro-Palestine
Demonstrations in Australia

In Australia, several cities
witnessed demonstrations supporting Palestine.

According to Australia’s ABC
News, protesters gathered in Melbourne carrying Aboriginal and Palestinian
flags as part of a protest titled “Sovereignty for Indigenous Peoples.”

In the capital Canberra, around
200 people took part in a protest against fascism and racism, waving
Palestinian flags and holding pro-Palestine banners.

Toll of Zionist
Extermination in Gaza

Since October 7, 2023, the
Israeli occupation, with U.S. support, has been committing a genocide in Gaza,
including killings, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring
international appeals and rulings from the International Court of Justice to
halt these crimes.

This genocide has resulted in
over 64,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 164,000 injuries, most of them
children and women, along with hundreds of thousands displaced and a famine
that claimed hundreds of lives, including dozens of children.
