Qatari Endowments Concludes “Abjad” Program with the
Participation of 326 Children

The
Qatari Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, represented by the
Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, concluded the “Abjad” course, one
of its most prominent Qur’anic and educational programs for children aged 5 to
9. The program was held over an entire month in three mosques across Doha.

326 Participants

A total
of 326 students took part in the program, attending four days a week (Sunday to
Wednesday) during the morning hours from 8:00 to 11:00. The sessions were
hosted at Ibrahim Hassan Al-Osaimakh Mosque in Al-Thumama, Hamad bin Nasser
Mosque in Hazm Al-Markhiya, and Saud bin Abdullah Al-Naqdan Mosque in South
Muaither.

Learning and Discipline

The
course focused on teaching “Al-Duroos Al-Hijaiyyah” (The Alphabet Lessons), the
approved textbook in Qur’an learning centers, where students learned the Arabic
letters and correct pronunciation skills. Participants were divided into
educational levels ranging from beginners to advanced learners.

The
children also memorized key Qur’anic passages, including Al-Fatihah, ten short
surahs, Ayat Al-Kursi, and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, in addition
to practical training in ablution and prayer, learning daily supplications, and
etiquette of conduct.

Qur’anic Values

Alongside
the educational aspects, the program included moral and cultural activities,
educational competitions, physical games, and recreational trips organized in
cooperation with official entities in the country.

The
program concluded with a joyful ceremony in which students were honored and
awarded participation certificates, in the presence of parents who praised the
ministry’s efforts.

The
Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance affirmed that organizing the
“Abjad” course comes within the Ministry’s strategy to make use of children’s
summer vacation through programs that combine Qur’anic education, instilling
values, and developing skills—contributing to raising a generation firmly
rooted in faith and conscious of its identity.
