Al-Azhar Condemns Occupation’s Decision to Seize Gaza: A Futile
Attempt to Erase Palestine and Drag the Region into Chaos

In a
statement issued on Saturday evening, August 9, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly
condemned the Israeli occupation’s decision to fully seize the lands of the
Gaza Strip, describing it as a heinous crime and irrefutable evidence of the
occupier’s intent to erase Palestine from existence and remove it from the
world map.

Al-Azhar
stressed that this move represents a stain of shame on the forehead of
international institutions that have failed to confront the occupation’s
policies of arrogance, violence, and defiance of international laws and
conventions. It noted that the occupation is fleeing from one failure to
another by prolonging the war and committing more massacres against the
Palestinian people.

Al-Azhar
called for urgent Arab, Islamic, and international action to unite efforts and
exert all forms of political, diplomatic, and legal pressure to end this
historic tragedy and prevent the occupier from dragging the region into chaos
and collapse.
