The Islamic Resistance
Movement “Hamas” has called on Arab and Islamic nations, as well as
all free people around the world, to launch widespread popular mobilizations
starting Sunday, July 20, in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,
who are facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions due to ongoing aggression
and a suffocating blockade.
In a statement titled
“A Call to the Nation and the Free People of the World,” the movement
affirmed that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to a “systematic war of
genocide and starvation” carried out by the Zionist occupation against
civilians, amid “unprecedented international silence and inaction.”
The statement pointed
to the collapse of basic life necessities in the Strip—including food, water,
and medicine—along with widespread destruction of infrastructure and healthcare
facilities, threatening the lives of more than two million Palestinians.
Hamas called for
making July 20 the beginning of global days of rage, including protests, sit-ins,
and solidarity events aimed at:
*Raising the global
voice against the occupation’s crimes,
*Pressuring governments
and decision-makers,
*Exposing the
occupation’s violations of international law.
The movement also
emphasized the urgent need for concerted efforts at the Arab, Islamic, and
international levels to end the aggression and lift the blockade immediately.
At the conclusion of
its statement, Hamas declared: “Let the coming days be historic ones in which we expose the crimes of
genocide and starvation, and let us be one united voice to end the blockade and
stop the aggression.”
This call comes amid
one of the worst humanitarian crises Gaza has ever witnessed, with growing
demands from human rights organizations to open international investigations
into violations against civilians.
Since October 7, 2023,
the Zionist occupation has waged a genocidal war against Gaza, involving
killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement—defying international
appeals and the orders of the International Court of Justice to halt the aggression.
This war, backed by
the United States, has resulted in over 198,000 martyrs and wounded, most of
whom are women and children, in addition to thousands of missing persons,
hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, and a famine that has claimed
the lives of many civilians.
