Turkey Launches Intensive
Summer Programs in Mosques to Promote Islamic Values Among Children and Youth

With the start of the summer holiday,
Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs has launched a series of intensive
programs aimed at children and youth in mosques across the country. The
initiative seeks to strengthen their connection to mosques and instill Islamic
and Quranic values in a safe educational environment that combines fun and
learning
.

According to the Presidency of Religious
Affairs, the initiative aims to enhance the religious awareness of the new
generation through educational summer programs held in more than 1,800 mosques
and Quran memorization centers throughout Turkey
.

Children’s Mosque” — A Leading
Model

The “Hazrat Omar” Mosque in the Pendik
district of Istanbul has attracted notable attention, as local families and
children celebrated the launch of the summer program. A video clip showed a
large crowd of children eagerly rushing into the mosque, which was decorated
with balloons, as soon as the doors opened—an expression of their excitement
and enthusiasm to participate
.

Locally known as the “Children’s Mosque,”
the site has gained a reputation for integrating religious education with
recreational activities, making it a pioneering model in attracting young
people to houses of worship in an engaging and enjoyable way
.

Millions
Benefiting

The Presidency of Religious Affairs expects
hundreds of thousands of children to benefit from these summer programs this
year. Last year’s summer Quran memorization courses saw the participation of
around 2.4 million students, according to Sedide Akbulut, Director of
Educational Services at the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs
.

A Safe Educational
Environment

It is worth noting that many mosques in
Turkey now feature dedicated play areas for children. This is part of an
educational approach aimed at connecting children with mosques from an early
age, while providing a stimulating and safe environment that merges education,
upbringing, and entertainment
