His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, the Secretary-General of the Union, is taking part in an international conference hosted by the "Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue" in collaboration with the "Multi-Religious Neighbors Network." The conference is titled "From Religious Freedom to Religious Responsibility: Towards Building Solidarity and Achieving Societies."
Conference Goals
The three-day conference (May 9-11, 2023) aims to focus on issues related to coexistence, religious freedom, and religious pluralism from the perspectives of religion, legal legislation, and human rights.
Additionally, the conference will discuss ways to shift from religious freedom, as determined by religions and international constitutions, to religious responsibility.
Conference Agenda
The conference sessions will take place in the Qatari capital of Doha and will revolve around four main axes, each of which will include sub-sessions:
First Axis: Religions and Law: Religious Responsibility towards Others.
Second Axis: Building Trust and Mutual Peace within Religious Communities.
Third Axis: The Institutional Character and Its Practical Impact.
Fourth Axis: Achieving the Conference Goals through Global Frameworks, International and Local Geographic Areas.
International Union of Muslim Scholars
In addition to the Secretary-General, members of the International Union of Muslim Scholars will participate in the conference, including:
