Hundreds of Jewish settlers took part in provocative marches in the heart of al-Khalil city and in southern Nablus on Monday.

According to the anti-settlement activist in al-Khalil, Aref Jaber, the Jewish settlers headed from the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba to the Jaber neighborhood and then to the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque, chanting racist slogans against Palestinian civilians and attacking their stores.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) protected the settlers and blocked the surrounding areas of the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque to facilitate the Jewish settlers’ march, he said, adding that the IOF detained him along with several journalists and prevented them from taking photos of the settlers while entering the Mosque.

In a related incident, hundreds of Jewish settlers from Itamar settlement, protected by the IOF, organized a provocative march near the Huwara checkpoint south of the West Bank city of Nablus while raising the Israeli flags.

Earlier on Sunday, thousands of Jewish settlers stormed the Old City of Jerusalem through its Bab al-Amud area to participate in the flag march, which included wide-scale assaults on Palestinian citizens and their property in the holy city.
