The IUMS Condemns the Massacre by the Occupation in the “Ain
al-Hilweh” Camp in Southern Lebanon

The
International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) strongly condemns the brutal
massacre carried out by the Zionist warplanes on a civilian center inside the
“Ain al-Hilweh” Palestinian refugee camp, south of the city of Sidon in
southern Lebanon. The attack targeted a religious lecture hall in a densely
populated area, continuing a series of massacres perpetrated by the occupation
against Palestinian civilians, which has so far resulted in the martyrdom of
more than 21 people and left hundreds wounded, including women and children.

The IUMS
affirms that targeting a civilian site well-known to the camp’s residents
completely undermines Israeli claims and reveals a deliberate strike against
innocent civilians, constituting a clear crime amounting to a massacre.

The IUMS
holds the occupation fully responsible for this brutal assault and calls on the
international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action
to protect civilians and halt repeated violations against the Palestinian
people.
