Malaysia Launches “Qur’an Everywhere”
Program in Conjunction with the 2025 International Qur’an Recitation and
Memorization Competition

The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM)
has announced the launch of a special program titled “Qur’an Everywhere:
Recitation and Reflection”, to coincide with the 65th International Qur’an
Recitation and Memorization Competition, scheduled to take place from August 2
to 9, 2025, at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

JAKIM’s Director-General, Sirajuddin Suhaimi, explained
that the program aims to strengthen the presence of the Qur’an in the daily
lives of Muslims by emphasizing correct recitation and deep contemplation of
its meanings. He stressed that engagement with the Qur’an should not be
confined to official events, but should become an integral part of the Islamic
way of life at all times and in all places.

He added that activities will be held in Islamic centers,
mosques, religious venues, and selected social spaces to enable participants to
experience a personal and impactful connection with the Qur’an.

The program also includes a special initiative under the
same title, “Qur’an Everywhere,” in the Bukit Bintang area. This initiative
aims to deliver the message that the Qur’an is a living and accessible guide,
constantly available for reference, regardless of location or occasion.

The program enjoys broad support from various entities,
including JAKIM’s Secretariat, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), educational
institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and a number of
mosques—support that significantly enhances the program’s chances of success
and community outreach.
