Israeli Occupation Releases
Al-Aqsa Preacher, Bans Him from Entering Mosque for a Week
The Israeli occupation authorities released
today, Friday, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Mohammed Sarandah, after
detaining him following Friday prayers. He was handed an order banning him from
entering the mosque for one week, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in
Jerusalem.
The Waqf explained that the order is
renewable, without clarifying the reason for the arrest. The Israeli occupation
authorities have not issued any comment on the incident.
It is worth noting that since October 7,
2023, the occupation has prohibited mosque preachers from addressing events in
the Gaza Strip, where more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed and over
165,000 wounded, in addition to mass displacement and severe humanitarian
crises, including many women and children.
