Celebrates the First Anniversary of Victory and Liberation
The Syrian people are celebrating
today, December 8, 2025, the first anniversary of the fall of the oppressive
regime and the liberation of the country. The events of the occasion began with
the Fajr prayer at the Umayyad Grand Mosque in Damascus.
The prayer was led by President Ahmad
Al-Shar’a, in the presence of His Eminence the Grand Mufti Sheikh Osama
Al-Rifa’i, along with a wide gathering of officials and Syrian citizens.
After the prayer, President Al-Shar’a
took the pulpit of the mosque and delivered a speech in which he focused on the
earnest pursuit of Syria’s renaissance and the restoration of its rightful
position within the nation and the world.
He affirmed the continuation of
efforts in the path of reconstruction, and the consolidation of security,
justice, and stability throughout the country.
President Al-Shar’a praised the
sacrifices and heroism of the fighters as they entered Damascus victorious,
stressing that preserving and building upon this victory is now one of the
greatest responsibilities placed upon all Syrians.
President Al-Shar’a said: “From its
north to its south, and from its east to its west, God willing… we will restore
Syria as a strong nation through construction worthy of its present and past…
construction worthy of Syria’s ancient civilization. We will rebuild it in
obedience to Allah Almighty, in support of the oppressed, and in the pursuit of
justice among people, God willing.”
He concluded his speech by saying:
“We ask Allah to protect this country, to assist us in serving and rebuilding
it, and in serving the Syrian people, God willing.”
Following the speech, celebrations
erupted across Syria in joy of this historic national occasion.
On this blessed anniversary, we ask
Allah Almighty to safeguard Syria and its people, to unite them in truth, to
reconcile their hearts, and to protect them from harm and tribulations, both
apparent and hidden.
O Allah, make this era one of
security, justice, and dignity, and grant Syria a new renaissance that pleases
You and elevates the status of its people among nations.
