Conclusion of the
28th Edition of the Kuwait Grand Qur’an Competition with 311 Winners Honored

The 28th edition of the Kuwait
Grand Qur’an Memorization and Recitation Competition, held under the theme “The
Noble and Righteous,” concluded with the honoring of 311 winners out of 3,416
participants who took part in the final rounds. Among the winners, 155
were male and 156 were female, reflecting the competition’s inclusive
approach for all segments of society.

Pioneering Competition in Building Kuwaiti Society

The Acting Secretary-General of
the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation, Eng. Janan Al-Zamel, stated that since its
inception in 1996, a total of 50,000 participants have had the honor of
taking part in the competition, while 4,776 winners have been celebrated
across all editions.

Al-Zamel emphasized that the
competition represents a practical model of the Foundation’s strategy to build
the Kuwaiti individual and develop society through the values of divine
revelation, noting that endowments in Kuwait serve as a vital lifeline and a
source of faith that safeguards national identity and values.

Increase in Participation Highlights Growing Interest in the Qur’an

The Competition’s General
Coordinator, Marab Al-Ya’qoub, highlighted that five years ago, 2,430
participants joined the event, whereas the current edition witnessed 3,416
participants, marking a 40% increase. This rise reflects the heightened
dedication to the Qur’an under the esteemed patronage of the Kuwaiti
leadership, further establishing Kuwait as a role model in promoting love for
the Qur’an.

Al-Ya’qoub also reviewed key
achievements of the Awqaf Public Foundation in the Qur’anic field, including
the establishment of the Qur’an Endowment Fund in 1995, the launch of the
Kuwait Grand Qur’an Competition in 1996, and the support of Qur’an memorization
circles in mosques and women’s centers.
