Global Conference in Istanbul: Gaza,
an Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility

 

In a
historic event anticipated by the Islamic world, the International Union of
Muslim Scholars, in cooperation with the Endowment of Islamic Scholars in
Turkey, is preparing to organize a global conference in Istanbul, Turkey, under
the slogan:

“Gaza:
An Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility”,

to be
held from 28 Safar – 6 Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1437 AH (corresponding to 22 – 29 August
2025 CE), with the participation of a distinguished group of senior scholars,
as well as leaders of associations and scholarly institutions from various
continents.

🔹 Conference Activities

·     Scholarly
conferences and intellectual gatherings in the courtyards of major mosques,
accompanied by global calls to support Gaza.

·     Press
conferences and religious statements issued by scholars clarifying the Islamic
and humanitarian stance toward the aggression.

🔹 Specialized Workshops will discuss:

The
duties of scholars, thinkers, and Islamic states.

·    
The role of donors and
businessmen in reconstruction and development.

·    
The role of media
professionals, politicians, and Islamic movements.

·    
Means of uniting the
Ummah under the Qur’anic principle: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all
together.”

·    
The status of Al-Aqsa
Mosque and the existential challenges facing the Ummah.

·    
Practical steps to end
the occupation and liberate the holy sites.

·    
Mechanisms for uniting
Islamic parties and associations under the methodology of the centrist Ummah.

🔹 Conference Objectives

1-     Supporting
Gaza and halting aggression by unifying efforts and opening humanitarian
corridors to aid its people.

2-     Establishing
a unified Islamic alliance to prevent the recurrence of massacres and genocide.

3-     Drafting
a global humanitarian charter to pursue war criminals and protect moral values.

4-     Issuing
the Istanbul Declaration to establish an institutional, legal, and humanitarian
alliance to confront aggression.

5-     Developing
effective diplomacy to mobilize public opinion, engage heads of state, and
secure international support.

6-     Forming
a permanent follow-up committee to ensure the implementation of decisions and
their translation into tangible reality.

Through
this global event, the Union affirms that the cause of Gaza is not a local
issue but rather a humanitarian trust and a civilizational responsibility for
the entire Ummah. It calls upon all free people, institutions, and
organizations to participate in shaping a historic transformation that supports
the oppressed and restores unity and dignity to the Ummah.
