The International Union of Muslim Scholars is an independent Islamic scholarly institution founded in 2004.
It works to convey the message of Islam and guide Muslims toward a correct understanding of their faith by preserving the identity of the Ummah, promoting moderation away from extremism and from compromising core principles, and striving for the unity of the Ummah and greater effectiveness in carrying out the call to Allah and contributing to the development of civilization.
As a body that includes a large number of scholars of the Muslim Ummah, the Union aims to clarify the scholars’ position on major events and developments that may arise in the world. To that end, it has established methodological guidelines and defining principles that preserve balance, objectivity, credibility, and independence in its statements, ensuring its acceptance as a reference relied upon by Muslims in times of critical issues and new developments.
