On Friday, August 29, 2025, in Istanbul, Turkish
\nPresident Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan met with a delegation of scholars participating
\nin the global conference \u201cGaza: An Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility\u201d,
\norganized by the International Union of Muslim Scholars in cooperation with the
\nWaqf of Muslim Scholars, with the participation of more than 150 scholars from
\n50 countries.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Union\u2019s President, Sheikh Dr.
\nAli Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, delivered a comprehensive speech presenting the
\nrecommendations and outcomes of the eight-day conference, which included 18
\nspecialized workshops. He emphasized the necessity of unifying international
\nefforts to lift the blockade on Gaza and support the resilience of its people,
\nbefore officially handing the recommendations to President Erdo\u011fan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Qaradaghi added that the Islamic and humanitarian
\nresponsibility toward Palestine is not optional but an uncompromisable duty,
\nstressing that the conference reflects the scholars\u2019 resolve to confront the
\nhumanitarian and political challenges affecting the region.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

President Erdo\u011fan expressed a positive response to the
\nscholars\u2019 proposals, emphasizing that Turkey continues to exert efforts to
\nsupport Palestine and to build an international coalition that upholds the just
\nrights of the Palestinian people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hassan Al-Dadou,
\nVice President of the Union, highlighted the humanitarian tragedy in Sudan,
\ncalling on Turkey to intervene in support of the affected civilians, and also
\nraised the issue of political prisoners, notably Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The International Union of Muslim Scholars considers
\nthis meeting a starting point for a series of planned meetings with leaders of
\nArab, Islamic, and international countries, as part of efforts to achieve
\nhumanitarian justice and end the suffering in Gaza.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
