Doha: Union
\nPresident Receives Kashmiri Information Minister to Discuss Ummah Issues<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Doha \u2013 His Eminence Sheikh Prof.
\nDr. Ali Mohiuddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim
\nScholars (IUMS), received on Monday afternoon the Kashmiri Minister of
\nInformation, Sheikh Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah Molana, in the presence of his
\nassistant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the outset of the meeting,
\nthe Minister expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Union
\nPresident for the warm reception. He stressed the importance of Muslim unity
\namid the challenges facing the Ummah, noting that numerous critical issues require
\nan active role from scholars in serving the causes of the Ummah, unifying its
\nranks, and strengthening solidarity among Muslims.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, the Union
\nPresident welcomed the Minister, affirming that the issues of the Islamic Ummah
\nand Muslim minorities\u2014particularly the Muslims of Kashmir\u2014are a top priority
\nfor the Union and will continue to be reflected in its positions and official
\nstatements.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that this
\ncommitment is evident in the final statement of the sixth meeting of the
\nUnion\u2019s Board of Trustees, which strongly condemned the persecution faced by
\nMuslim minorities, with particular emphasis on the Kashmir issue.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Qaradaghi also noted that the
\nUnion maintains positive relations and active communication with a number of
\nIslamic countries, and seeks to leverage these ties to support the causes of
\nthe Ummah and enhance cooperation among scholars and religious institutions
\nworldwide.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Highlighting the Union\u2019s
\nactivities, the President stated that, in cooperation with the Islamic Scholars
\nEndowment in Turkey, the Union held a conference in August 2025 titled \u201cGaza:
\nAn Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The conference resulted in a set
\nof initiatives and projects that were presented to Turkish President Recep
\nTayyip Erdo\u011fan during a meeting with a number of participating scholars. Among
\nthe most prominent proposals was the establishment of an Islamic economic,
\npolitical, and military alliance among major Islamic countries to strengthen
\ncooperation and unity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting, which lasted over
\nan hour, reflected a convergence of views between the Union President and the
\nKashmiri Minister on the issues facing the Ummah, the importance of Muslim
\nunity, and the role of scholars as well as media and religious institutions in
\nraising awareness and defending the legitimate rights of the Islamic Ummah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the
\nmeeting, the Kashmiri Minister extended an official invitation to the Union
\nPresident to attend an international conference on Ummah-related issues,
\nscheduled to be held next April.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the
\nUnion President presented the Minister with the Union\u2019s shield in appreciation
\nand recognition of him and the people of Kashmir.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
