The Qatari capital Doha hosted
\nan intellectual seminar titled \u201cIslam and Its Role in Enhancing Social
\nSecurity,\u201d organized by the Green Tent program in its twentieth edition, with
\nthe participation of a group of scholars and intellectuals, headed by the president
\nof the International Union of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Prof. Dr.
\nAli Muhyi al-Din al-Qaradaghi.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Seminar on Islam and social security<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The seminar focused on the role
\nof Islam in strengthening social security as one of the objectives of Islamic
\nlaw, which aims to protect humans and society in various aspects of
\nlife\u2014social, economic, political, and religious.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants affirmed that
\nsecurity is not merely the absence of conflicts, but a comprehensive system
\nbased on values and justice that ensures the stability of societies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Security as one of the objectives of Sharia<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In his intervention,
\nal-Qaradaghi explained that Islam seeks to achieve tranquility and combat
\ncorruption through legislation and values that maintain a balance between the
\nneeds of the individual and society.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He clarified that the concept of
\nsecurity in Islam is comprehensive, not limited to the material dimension, but
\nextending to psychological, social, economic, and even cybersecurity security
\nin the modern era.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He pointed out that security is
\nthe opposite of fear and corruption, and that Islamic law came to build a
\nsociety characterized by stability.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He also emphasized that security
\nis achieved through a balance between internal and external dimensions;
\ninternal security stems from purity of the heart and spiritual tranquility,
\nciting the verse: \u201cThose who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the
\nremembrance of Allah. Truly, in the remembrance of Allah hearts find comfort\u201d
\n(Surah Ar-Ra\u2019d: 28). External security, meanwhile, relies on legislation that
\nregulates social and economic relations and ensures justice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Security through faith and legislation<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Participants agreed that ethical
\nvalues and fair legislation form a solid foundation for social security,
\nenhancing societal cohesion and limiting manifestations of disorder.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

They affirmed that the absence
\nof values leads to disturbances that threaten societal stability.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar is part of the
\nactivities of the Green Tent program, which is celebrating its twentieth year
\nas a dialogue platform that brings together thought, science, and environment.
\nIt aims to discuss contemporary issues that contribute to raising awareness and
\nsupporting dialogue on societal challenges.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
