All praise is due to
\nAllah, Lord of the Worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our master
\nMuhammad, his family, his companions, and all who follow them in righteousness
\nuntil the Day of Judgment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The International
\nUnion of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), with the participation of a blessed group of
\nscholars, academics, and media professionals, and with the broad contribution
\nof institutions, organizations, and prominent figures from across the Islamic
\nworld, announces the launch of the activities of this year\u2019s \u201cGlobal Jerusalem
\nWeek\u201d, under the slogan:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201cJerusalem
\nand Gaza\u2026 A Near Hope.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

This announcement
\ncomes as an extension of a path the Union has adhered to since its founding,
\nhaving placed the cause of Jerusalem and Palestine at the forefront of its
\npriorities and as its central cause, bearing a religious and moral
\nresponsibility to support it and to keep it alive in the conscience and
\nawareness of the Ummah\u2014through word, stance, and action.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The activities of
\nGlobal Jerusalem Week are held annually during the last week of the month of
\nRajab, coinciding with the anniversary of Al-Isra\u2019 and Al-Mi\u2018raj and the Salah
\nal-Din liberation of Jerusalem. This year, its activities commence today,
\nTuesday, 13 January, and continue until 19 January 2026, serving as a unifying
\nannual milestone that moves the cause from symbolic commemoration to a season
\nof action, mobilization, and guidance. It reflects unity of ranks and
\nintegration of efforts among scholars, thinkers, academics, media
\nprofessionals, all segments of society, civil society organizations, and all
\nfree people around the world.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The launch of Global
\nJerusalem Week this year comes within an exceptional historical context,
\ncoinciding with a nominal ceasefire in Gaza, following the exposure to the
\nworld of the scale of brutal genocide and systematic destruction inflicted upon
\nour Palestinian people, amid major transformations unfolding in the region.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This occasion also
\ncoincides with the anniversary of the Salah al-Din liberation, reaffirming that
\nJerusalem has never been a marginal issue, but rather has always been\u2014and will
\nremain\u2014a central responsibility of the Ummah. The aggression against Jerusalem,
\nGaza, and the West Bank, and against the site of the Prophet\u2019s Night Journey
\n(peace be upon him), is an aggression against the very essence, conscience, and
\nmission of the Ummah.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars announces the launch of Global Jerusalem
\nWeek this year, in the aftermath of Gaza\u2019s steadfastness and the exposure of
\nthe true nature of the Zionist project, it affirms the following positions and
\nobligations:<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

First:<\/span><\/b> The Union extends its salutations and highest regard
\nto the fighters in Gaza, who stood firm in the arenas of confrontation in
\ndefense of the dignity of the Ummah. It also salutes the steadfast people of
\nGaza, the righteous martyrs who ascended with their pure blood, the patient
\nwounded, and the resolute prisoners, all of whom together have embodied honor
\nand set the true measure of dignity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Second: <\/span><\/b>The Union affirms that Global Jerusalem Week
\nrepresents a strategic opportunity to reorder priorities at the level of
\nindividuals, institutions, and governments that express the will of their
\npeoples. Jerusalem must be at the forefront of concerns, and Gaza represents
\nthe duty of the moment. This week should serve as a launchpad for sustained
\naction, not a passing occasion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Third:<\/span><\/b> The Union calls upon all institutions, organizations,
\nand active entities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> – <\/span>each within its respective field<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> – <\/span>to engage practically
\nwith Global Jerusalem Week by organizing activities, programs, and events,
\nissuing official statements, and utilizing the Week\u2019s guide, ensuring diversity
\nand comprehensiveness of initiatives.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Fourth:<\/span><\/u><\/b> The Union calls upon the scholars of the Ummah,
\nmosque preachers, and callers to Islam to dedicate the upcoming Friday sermon
\nto addressing the Ummah\u2019s duty toward its first Qiblah, its responsibility
\ntoward Gaza and the West Bank, and to emphasize that the post-aggression phase
\nis in even greater need of steadfastness, action, and reconstruction.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Fifth:<\/span><\/b> The Union calls for the organization of large-scale
\npopular demonstrations throughout the Islamic world and beyond, following
\nFriday prayers and throughout the week, to exert continuous popular pressure in
\nsupport of Gaza, to reject the aggression in the West Bank, and to affirm that
\nthe Palestinian cause remains alive in the conscience of the peoples.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sixth:<\/span><\/b> The Union stresses the importance of the cognitive
\nand educational dimension by correcting misconceptions, confronting the
\ndiscourse of normalization, entrenching the centrality of Jerusalem in
\neducational curricula and cultural and media discourse, and building an
\nawareness that protects the cause from dilution and oblivion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Seventh:<\/span><\/u><\/b> The Union calls for intensifying organized
\nhumanitarian relief efforts for our people in Gaza, as an integral part of the
\nobligation of jihad with wealth, transforming giving into sustainable
\ninstitutional action and a fundamental pillar of steadfastness and resilience.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Jerusalem
\ncalls upon the Ummah, Al-Aqsa awakens consciences, and the blood of Gaza\u2019s
\nchildren places everyone before the responsibility of a stance worthy of the
\nmagnitude of the sacrifices. Those who remain steadfast in the field are, in
\nfact, guarding the dignity of the Ummah, safeguarding its present, and shaping
\nthe contours of its future.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The International
\nUnion of Muslim Scholars extends its sincere thanks and profound appreciation
\nto the esteemed scholars, and to the academic, intellectual, and media figures
\nwho responded to Jerusalem\u2019s call and participated in this conference, embodying
\nthrough their sincere stand the awareness and mission of scholars and their
\nloyalty to the Ummah\u2019s central cause.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Union also
\nhighly commends the notable role of the media, and of the scholars, activists,
\nand journalists in the Islamic and free world, who revive Global Jerusalem Week
\nand transform it into a living action and a steadfast voice for Jerusalem and
\nGaza in the face of distortion, normalization, and forgetfulness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
