\nSecretariat Charts the Next Phase, Strengthens Governance, and Expands

The General Secretariat of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars held its monthly meeting on Monday
\nevening, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. via video conference (Zoom), with the
\nparticipation of its members. The meeting was convened as part of ongoing
\nefforts to enhance institutional coordination and to follow up on the
\nimplementation of operational plans for the upcoming phase.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The session commenced with a
\nrecitation of verses from the Holy Qur\u2019an, setting a spiritual tone for the
\nproceedings. This was followed by brief welcoming remarks delivered by the
\nsession chair, Sheikh Dr. Fadl Murad, who greeted the participants and underscored
\nthe importance of the meeting in unifying efforts and integrating roles in
\nservice of the Union\u2019s objectives and the mission of the Ummah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

His Excellency the
\nSecretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Sallabi, also delivered a keynote
\naddress outlining the features of the forthcoming phase. He emphasized the need
\nto elevate institutional performance, strengthen teamwork, and focus on strategic
\npriorities that advance the Union\u2019s mission and broaden its scholarly,
\nadvocacy, and media impact.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Dr. Fadl Murad reviewed
\nthe most significant decisions and recommendations issued by the Board of
\nTrustees during its most recent session, noting that steps have been taken to
\nimplement and follow up on them. He also presented the plans of the various
\ncommittees, offering a summary of their proposed programs for the coming
\nperiod.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting further examined the
\nplans of the Union\u2019s branches across different countries, stressing the
\nimportance of aligning them with the Union\u2019s overall strategic framework.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants also revisited the
\nbranch regulations previously discussed in earlier sessions. Organizational
\nobservations aimed at further developing institutional performance within the
\nbranches and strengthening governance were adopted.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting addressed the most
\npressing current issues and challenges facing the Ummah, with attendees
\nexchanging views on mechanisms for engagement and proposing a range of
\npractical initiatives to enhance the Union\u2019s presence and proactive role in
\npriority matters.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The session concluded with
\nprayers for divine blessing upon the efforts undertaken and for success in
\nserving the Ummah and its causes.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
