Dr. Ali Muhammad al-Sallabi,
\nSecretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, emphasized
\nthat scholars and Islamic institutions are more than ever called upon to
\nactively support the Palestinian people and halt the brutal crimes committed by
\nthe Zionist occupation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He stated in a press statement to
\n“Arabi21” that struggling to protect lives and respond to injustice
\nis among the greatest goals of Islamic law. Silence or negligence in the face
\nof these crimes is a form of complicity. He called on the free people of the
\nworld to urgently act to stop these violations that breach all humanitarian and
\ninternational laws<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Sallabi added, \u201cHuman solidarity and
\nmutual support are religious duties that compel us to unite to save the
\nPalestinian people from the genocide being carried out by the Zionist
\noccupation,\u201d stressing that this struggle is a fundamental religious obligation
\ndictated by Sharia, which calls for supporting the oppressed and repelling
\naggression<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding the occupation\u2019s actions, he
\nexplained that over the past twenty months, the Zionist occupation has used
\nheavy weapons against civilians, destroyed livelihoods, and forced reliance on
\nhumanitarian aid, disregarding all ethical and legal standards. He criticized
\nthe internal investigations by the occupation as mere cover-ups<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He insisted that the accountability of
\noccupation soldiers and leaders is required at all times and places, not only
\nbefore the International Criminal Court. He described the Zionist regime as one
\nfounded on genocidal ideology that ignores the shock it has caused humanity\u2019s
\nconscience<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Sallabi affirmed that isolating this
\nregime is a legal and moral duty for all countries, pointing out that the
\nadvisory opinion by the International Court of Justice demands an immediate and
\nunconditional end to the occupation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He condemned the shooting of Palestinians
\nwaiting for aid as not only shocking but a humiliating and brutal crime,
\nholding the United States directly responsible alongside the occupation for
\nthese ongoing crimes<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In conclusion, he called on the scholars and
\nreligious institutions of the Ummah to support the legitimate struggle, awaken
\nconsciences, and stand with the Palestinian people against this genocide,
\naffirming that standing for truth and justice is the true path to peace and
\ndignity in the region<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist
\noccupation has waged a genocidal war on Gaza, involving killing, starvation,
\ndestruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls
\nincluding orders by the International Court of Justice to halt the aggression<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The aggression, backed by the United States,
\nhas resulted in over 191,000 Palestinian casualties, mostly women and children,
\nover 11,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and widespread
\nfamine that has claimed many lives, including dozens of children<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The occupation continues to control
\nPalestine and lands in Syria and Lebanon for decades, rejecting withdrawal and
\nthe establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as
\nits capital, based on pre-1967 borders<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
