IUMS: Egypt and Al-Azhar Face a Historic Moment to Lead an
\nIslamic Coalition to Break Gaza Siege and End the Aggression<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) affirmed that Egypt holds a
\npivotal role in the efforts to break the siege on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing
\nthat Cairo possesses the keys to initiating an end to the ongoing war\u2014if the
\nEgyptian people, Al-Azhar, and the country’s political leadership lead a
\nregional coalition in cooperation with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A Pressing Islamic Coalition<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In an
\nofficial statement, IUMS Secretary-General Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi stressed
\nthat a genuine alliance among Arab and Muslim nations\u2014from Indonesia, Malaysia,
\nand Turkey to the Gulf and Maghreb states\u2014has the capacity to generate real
\npolitical and humanitarian pressure on the international community. Such
\nunified pressure could force a ceasefire, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid,
\nand bring an end to the suffering of millions of Palestinian civilians.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Sallabi
\nnoted that Egypt is not merely a geographical gateway but a political and
\nspiritual pillar of the Islamic world. He called on the Egyptian people to rise
\nwith their historical weight in support of the Palestinian cause, asserting
\nthat the current moment presents Egypt and Al-Azhar with a historic opportunity
\nto take the lead in ending the aggression and lifting the siege.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Support from the Gulf and Turkey<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Al-Sallabi
\nhighlighted the urgent need for a unified stance from the Gulf countries,
\nTurkey, Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, urging them to join a clear
\ncoalition that backs Egypt\u2019s efforts to halt the aggression on Gaza. He stated,
\n\u201cIf the Islamic world speaks with one voice, no power will be able to continue
\nthe war or maintain the siege on the children and women of Gaza.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The IUMS
\nSecretary-General emphasized that the current phase demands a real
\ncoalition\u2014not merely symbolic statements. He insisted that any Islamic
\ninitiative must originate from Al-Azhar and the Egyptian people, with clear
\nbacking from the major powers in the Islamic world.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A Call to Al-Azhar and the Conscience of the Ummah<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Al-Sallabi
\nrenewed his call to Al-Azhar\u2014describing it as \u201cthe beacon of moderation and the
\nspiritual leadership of the Islamic world\u201d\u2014to take the initiative in mobilizing
\nthe global conscience and working alongside the scholars of the Ummah to launch
\nbroad alliances rooted in religious and moral legitimacy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He
\nconcluded his statement by saying: \u201cIf the voice of Al-Azhar and the conscience
\nof the Ummah align with popular will and political decision-making, no power
\nwill be able to stand in the way of ending the war and saving the people of
\nGaza.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Gaza Between Famine and War<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

On the
\nground, aid trucks have started moving from Egypt toward Gaza amidst the
\nongoing Israeli aggression and the absence of a ceasefire agreement following
\nthe failure of the Doha negotiations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the
\nsame time, the occupying forces announced \u201ctemporary truces\u201d and limited \u201csafe
\ncorridors,\u201d even as the massacres of civilians continue.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Gaza is
\nenduring the worst humanitarian catastrophe in its history, as famine overlaps
\nwith a campaign of genocide carried out by the Israeli occupation, with
\nAmerican support and global silence in the face of international appeals and
\norders from the International Court of Justice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since
\nMarch 2, the occupation has completely closed the crossings into Gaza to
\nhumanitarian and medical aid, in an escalated starvation campaign, while UN
\nagencies warn of an imminent risk of mass death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According
\nto the Gaza Ministry of Health, the number of famine- and malnutrition-related
\ndeaths has risen to 133, including 87 children. The total number of martyrs and
\nwounded has surpassed 204,000\u2014most of them women and children\u2014with over 9,000
\nmissing and hundreds of thousands displaced.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
