Statement by the
\nGeneral Secretariat Regarding the Resignation of His Eminence Prof. Dr.
\nMuhammad G\u00f6rmez<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The General Secretariat of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars affirms that His Eminence Prof. Dr.
\nMuhammad G\u00f6rmez, upon being appointed as President of the Islamic University of
\nScience and Technology\u2014a position that requires full dedication, sustained
\neffort, and continuous engagement\u2014consulted with His Eminence the President of
\nthe Union, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, regarding his resignation from the
\nresponsibilities entrusted to him, namely his role as Vice President and his
\nmembership on the Board of Trustees.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Both parties agreed to present
\nthis resignation to the Board of Trustees. Accordingly, yesterday, on 17
\nJanuary 2026, Prof. Dr. Muhammad G\u00f6rmez formally submitted his resignation from
\nthese responsibilities and from his duties within the Union, stressing that
\nthis decision bears no relation to any individual within the Union, nor does it
\nstem from any internal disagreement.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Following the publication of
\nProf. Dr. G\u00f6rmez\u2019s tweet, communication was established with him, during which
\nhe reaffirmed, in a message addressed to the Board of Trustees, the
\naforementioned points\u2014confirming the facts and putting an end to any misinterpretation
\nor unfounded claims.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As for the allegations
\ncirculated by some, claiming the existence of a dispute between the two
\nrespected scholars as the cause of this resignation, they are nothing but
\nbaseless slander and false accusations with no grounding in truth. Almighty
