The
\nIslamic Community and Dar al-Ifta in the Central Bosnia region (Zenicko
\nmuftijstvo) \u2013 one of the institutions affiliated with the Islamic Community in
\nBosnia and Herzegovina \u2013 awarded the \u201cHassan Effendi Shkapur Foundation\u201d Prize
\nfor the year 1447 AH \/ 2025 CE to Sheikh Dr. Safwat Effendi Khalilovi\u0107, a
\nmember of the Board of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.
\nThe award recognizes his outstanding scientific accomplishments and
\ndistinguished contributions to promoting Islamic culture and serving Islam in
\nhis country.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\naward was presented in conjunction with the celebration of the Prophet
\nMuhammad\u2019s birthday, with the ceremony held on September 4 in the city of
\nTe\u0161anj, located in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nblessed occasion, the International Union of Muslim Scholars extended its
\nheartfelt congratulations to Dr. Safwat Khalilovi\u0107, emphasizing that this
\nrecognition is well-deserved for his scholarly and advocacy efforts and his
\ncontinuous service to Islam and Muslims.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Pioneering Scientific Achievements<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Dr.
\nSafwat Khalilovi\u0107 is considered one of the leading scholars and academics in
\nBosnia and Herzegovina. He serves as a university professor at the Faculty of
\nIslamic Education at Zenica University and engages in extensive religious and
\ncultural activities. He has also contributed significantly to the fields of
\nQur\u2019anic exegesis, the Prophetic biography (Seerah), and Qur\u2019anic anthropology.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr.
\nKhalilovi\u0107 has authored approximately twenty books, most notably \u201cThe Prophetic
\nBiography in its Iron Garb \u2013 A Contemporary Reading of the Events of the
\nProphetic Life\u201d, which has been translated into nine global languages, and \u201cThe
\nComplete Qur\u2019anic Exegesis in Bosnian\u201d, the first full Qur\u2019anic exegesis
\npublished in the Bosnian language. The work gained widespread popularity,
\nreaching four editions within a single year, reflecting its scholarly and
\ncultural significance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In a
\nspecial interview with the Union\u2019s media office, Dr. Khalilovi\u0107 explained that
\n\u201cpreparing this exegesis took eleven years, with the assistance of a select
\ngroup of scholars, including Dr. Ahmad al-Raysuni, Sheikh Muhammad al-Hassan
\nal-Deddu, Dr. Ali al-Salabi, and Dr. Ali Mohieddin al-Qaradaghi, along with a
\nteam of scholars in Bosnia who followed its progress.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

About the Award and Its Founder<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The
\nHassan Effendi Shkapur Award was established in 2005 and is granted annually to
\nscholars and thinkers who have made outstanding intellectual, cultural, and
\nscientific contributions, with winners selected from among dozens of nominees.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh
\nHassan Effendi Shkapur (1913\u20131975) was one of Bosnia\u2019s prominent scholars
\nduring the communist era. He mastered several languages, including Arabic,
\nTurkish, Persian, Russian, and Italian. Despite the religious restrictions of
\nthe time, he translated Sahih al-Bukhari with detailed commentary, leaving a
\nlegacy as a symbol of knowledge and steadfastness in faith.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
