Islamic Group: “Lebanon Must Confront Normalization and
\nDevelop a National Strategy to Defend the Country”<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The
\nIslamic Group in Lebanon announced its commitment to opposing any project aimed
\nat normalizing relations with the Israeli enemy, affirming that it “will
\nbe at the forefront of confronting the normalization project whose signs have
\nbegun to appear on the horizon.” The group emphasized its readiness to
\noverturn this project, just as it previously nullified the May 17 Agreement.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nstatement came during a large rally organized by the group in Tripoli in
\nsupport of Gaza. Former Secretary-General of the group, Azzam Al-Ayoubi,
\nstressed the existence of “schemes and conspiracies aiming to strip the
\nnation of its mantle of resistance and confrontation with the enemy,”
\nquestioning the outcomes of the previously signed “agreements of
\nhumiliation and disgrace.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Ayoubi
\ncalled on Lebanon’s political leaders, particularly the government, to hold a
\ndialogue session to discuss a national strategy for defending Lebanon against
\nongoing aggressions, instead of focusing on disarming the resistance under weak
\npretexts. He emphasized that this weaponry is not only for Hezbollah, but
\nrepresents the state’s ability to confront the enemy when it attacks Lebanese
\nterritory.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He also
\nasserted that the enemy, supported by the U.S. administration, does not want
\nLebanon or its army to be strong, citing statements from enemy leaders who have
\ncompelled the army to destroy any weapons found in the south. He added:
\n“America, along with global powers, wants Lebanon weak and prohibits its
\narmy from possessing any capacity to confront the enemy.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Ayoubi
\nfurther stressed that the Israeli enemy does not respect any state and
\ncontinues its aggression against Arab countries, citing attacks in Syria where
\nenemy aircraft targeted sites aimed at destroying weapons. He clarified that
\nthe enemy “does not fear concessions, but fears men before weapons.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Ayoubi
\nconcluded his call by urging Lebanese citizens to launch “a serious
\ndialogue encompassing all political and sectarian factions to form a unified
\nmilitary force that leverages the capabilities of all sects in confronting the
\nZionist enemy.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
