His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali
\nMohyeddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim
\nScholars, extended his congratulations to the Syrian people on the occasion of
\nthe one-year anniversary of what he described as the \u201cBattle of Repelling the
\nAggression and Liberating Syria,\u201d emphasizing that this commemoration carries
\nprofound spiritual and national significance, and represents a moment when
\n\u201cGod\u2019s sovereignty\u201d manifested and the power of the people to prevail became
\nevident when their will is united.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Victory as the
\nWill of the People and the Promise of God<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In a tweet on his X (formerly
\nTwitter) account, Al-Qaradaghi stated that the events Syrians are commemorating
\nthis year \u201crevealed to the nations that God\u2019s will prevails over the will of
\ntyrants,\u201d asserting that victory came at a moment \u201cwhen political calculations
\nfailed and negotiation tables abandoned their purpose,\u201d while only God\u2019s will
\nremained dominant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that what occurred
\nrepresents \u201ca sign of God\u2019s justice when it is manifested,\u201d noting that nations
\nwhose intentions are sincere and who pursue the means of strength \u201care guided
\nby God and doors open for them that they never imagined were near.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Qaradaghi praised the
\nsteadfastness of the Syrian people during that battle, affirming that they
\nproved \u201cthat when hearts are attached to their Lord and hands unite in the
\ncause of truth, the impossible is broken, oppression collapses, and history is rewritten.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He prayed to God to consolidate
\nwhat he described as \u201cthe victory,\u201d and to grant the Syrian leadership and
\npeople \u201cinsight that is not deceived, and humility that does not waver,\u201d and
\nthat the outcome of this period be \u201cprosperity, justice, and guidance,\u201d
\nemphasizing the necessity of building state strength and restoring security to
\nits citizens.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He concluded his congratulations
\nby praying for Syria and its people to be protected from \u201cthe schemes of the
\ncunning,\u201d and to be blessed with success and guidance, adding: \u201cVictory comes
\nonly from God.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Battle of
\nRepelling the Aggression<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Battle of Repelling the
\nAggression is considered the largest military operation launched by rebel
\nfactions in northwestern Syria in late November 2024, in response to the former
\nregime\u2019s military escalation and territorial expansion.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Over twelve days, fighters
\nreportedly entered Damascus and declared the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad
\nregime (2000\u20132024), which succeeded his father Hafez al-Assad (1970\u20132000),
\nbefore fleeing to Moscow, which reportedly granted asylum to him and his family.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During decades of Assad family
\nrule, the regime imposed strict security control and committed widespread human
\nrights violations, making the day of its ousting a national occasion for
\nSyrians.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
