The sixth edition of the English
\ntranslation of the Quran, Glorious Quran, by Indian scholar Dr. Zafar-ul-Islam
\nKhan, a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, has recently been
\npublished.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This brings the total number of
\neditions released in just two years since its first publication in 2023 to six:
\nthree editions featuring both the Arabic text and English translation, and
\nthree editions containing the English translation alone.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The translation is distinguished
\nby its use of clear, contemporary English and is based exclusively on the
\nearliest and most authentic Arabic exegeses, the Prophet\u2019s biography, military
\ncampaigns (maghazi), Islamic history, and authoritative Arabic lexicons. Dr.
\nKhan aimed to present the Quran\u2019s message to the world as it was understood by
\nthe earliest generations of Muslims, avoiding later translations, late
\ncommentaries, and non-Arabic sources.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Global Acclaim for the Translation<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The translation maintains full
\nneutrality in its main text, footnotes, and appendices regarding sectarian or
\ndoctrinal differences, steering clear of grammatical and jurisprudential
\ndisputes. The translator authored approximately 2,500 footnotes and supplemented
\nthem with an introduction to the Quran, the Prophet\u2019s biography, explanations
\nof Islamic terms, and a detailed Quranic index, making this edition a
\ncomprehensive Islamic encyclopedia for readers seeking a thorough understanding
\nof Islam.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Over a 12-year period, Dr. Khan
\nemphasized the Quran\u2019s guidance in contemporary contexts, addressing issues
\nrelated to Muslim minorities, peace, terrorism, and jihad. The translation has
\nreceived widespread international recognition, with distinguished reviews in
\nmultiple countries.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al Jazeera described it as a
\n\u201ccomplete introduction to Islam,\u201d while London-based Muslim News wrote: \u201cThis
\nis one of the best English translations of the Quran, making its understanding
\nstraightforward.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Abdul Majid Qazi of
\nAligarh Muslim University noted that the translation demonstrates \u201cmature
\ninsight and extensive knowledge,\u201d adding that it and its supplements
\n\u201cconstitute a concise Islamic encyclopedia.\u201d Former university director and
\nthinker Najeeb Jang called it \u201cthe best of the best,\u201d while Professor Muhammad
\nQutbuddin of Jawaharlal Nehru University praised it as \u201ca unique and standard
\nEnglish translation,\u201d highlighting its accuracy, clarity, simplicity, and
\nimpact. Islamic Voice newspaper in Bangalore described it as \u201can essential
\nsource for those wishing to deeply understand the Quran and Islamic teachings.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A 12-Year Encyclopedic Effort<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Palestinian thinker Dr. Muhammad
\nMakram Balawi called the translation \u201cthe best of all translations he has
\nseen.\u201d Professor Akhtar Al-Wasi of Aligarh Muslim University described it as \u201ca
\nsolid scholarly achievement,\u201d distinct from traditional exegeses and achieving
\n\u201ctrue representation of Islam in the modern age.\u201d Professor Abdul Rahim Qadwai,
\nin a review for the Muslim World Book Review (UK), stated that \u201cthis
\ntranslation is entirely accurate and skillfully presents the original text.\u201d
\nIslamic thinker Abdullah Tariq deemed it \u201cundoubtedly superior to all previous
\ntranslations,\u201d calling it \u201ca priceless addition to religious literature,
\nreleased at the right time.\u201d Shakil Rasheed, editor-in-chief of Mumbai Urdu
\nNews, described it as \u201cunparalleled.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
