Dr. Mundhir
\nAl-Qudah, a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, participated
\non Saturday, 20 December, in the proceedings of the peer-reviewed International
\nScientific Conference entitled: \u201cLegal Liability for the Use of Artificial
\nIntelligence in the Healthcare Sector: Challenges and Prospects for
\nRegulation.\u201d The conference was held at the Regency Palace Hotel in Amman,
\nHashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and was organized by Amman Arab University, with
\nthe participation of a distinguished group of academics and specialized
\nresearchers from within Jordan and abroad.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Qudah\u2019s
\nparticipation took the form of a joint scientific paper presented with His
\nExcellency Professor Dr. Numan Al-Khatib, entitled: \u201cRules Governing Civil
\nLiability for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Healthcare Sector and
\nthe Principles of Compensation for Resulting Harm: A Comparative Study in
\nIslamic Jurisprudence and International Conventions and Treaties.\u201d The paper
\nwas presented within the fourth thematic track of the conference, which focused
\non civil, criminal, and disciplinary liability.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The paper was
\npresented during the first session of the conference and addressed the legal
\nand Shariah framework governing the use of artificial intelligence applications
\nin the healthcare field. It outlined the foundations of civil liability arising
\nfrom damages caused by the misuse of these applications, as well as the
\ncontrols governing compensation for such damages, in light of Islamic
\njurisprudence and the provisions set forth in relevant national legislation,
\ninternational conventions, and treaties.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The study emphasized
\nthe importance of achieving a balance between keeping pace with the rapid
\ntechnological advancement in the field of artificial intelligence and
\nprotecting human rights and ensuring patient safety, through the establishment
\nof clear legal and legislative frameworks regulating the use of these modern
\ntechnologies in the healthcare sector.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
