As part of its ongoing joint
\ntraining program, Mauritania\u2019s Center for Scholars officially launched this
\nmorning, Saturday, January 17, 2025, its second training session dedicated to
\nthe leaders and officials of the Union of Quranic Schools in the Republic of
\nSenegal. The initiative forms part of continuous efforts to enhance the
\nscientific and administrative competencies of personnel working in the field of
\nQuranic education.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Enhancing
\nCompetencies<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The three-week course provides
\nparticipants with specialized scientific and administrative programs designed
\nto meet the demands of their leadership roles and to strengthen their
\nmanagement, supervision, and guidance skills.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In his opening speech, Dr.
\nMohamed Mokhtar Mohamed Al-Mami, Director General of the Center for Scholars,
\nemphasized that these training sessions serve as a key platform for honing
\nskills and developing the scientific and administrative capabilities of beneficiaries.
\nHe noted that the program is a direct outcome of the cooperation agreement
\nbetween the Center and the National Union of Quranic Schools Associations in
\nSenegal.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He added that the Center\u2019s
\nmission focuses on disseminating knowledge, reinforcing Islamic values, and
\npromoting bonds of brotherhood and good neighborliness among nations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Scientific
\nPartnership<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Mami highlighted that
\nthis session builds upon the previous linguistic and administrative empowerment
\nprogram organized by the Center for a select group of Union leaders. It is part
\nof a comprehensive scientific pathway aimed at developing the Shinqiti school
\ncurriculum and enhancing its role in teaching Islamic sciences and humanities.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Sheikh Mustafa
\nWone, President of the Union of Quranic Schools in Senegal, praised the
\npioneering role of the Center for Scholars in training Senegalese students and
\ngranting them certification in the Quran and its sciences. He commended the
\nCenter\u2019s efforts in promoting the Arabic language and Islamic studies in
\nSenegal through the Union.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He urged participants to
\ndiligently benefit from the program, noting that they serve as ambassadors of
\nthe Union and its scientific mission.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mr. Sirin Mansour
\nSamb, Secretary General of the Union, expressed his gratitude to the Center\u2019s
\nadministration for its warm welcome and hospitality, affirming that this course
\nreflects fruitful and ongoing cooperation between the two institutions. He also
\nprovided an overview of the Union of Quranic Schools, highlighting the notable
\nprogress of its staff since the collaboration with the Center began over
\nfifteen years ago.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The course supervisor, Mr.
\nMohamed Yasselm Ahmed Salem, encouraged participants to maximize their efforts
\nand seize the opportunities offered, outlining the schedule and curriculum of
\nthe training session.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony concluded with the
\npresentation of certificates of appreciation from the Union of Quranic Schools
\nin Senegal to the Center for Scholars, recognizing its continuous efforts in
\nserving Quranic students and school supervisors in Senegal.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the
\ncooperation agreement between the two parties stipulates that every two years,
\nthe Center receives a selected group of Union students through a competitive
\nprocess to receive two years of scientific training in Quranic studies and the
\nArabic language. Graduates receive a diploma qualifying them for teaching,
\nleading prayers, and delivering sermons, in addition to specialized training
\ncourses for Union administrators and teachers.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
