\nMay 1, 2025 \u2014 In a deeply moving and dignified gathering, a solemn condolence
\nprogram was held yesterday at the Friends’ Cultural Center, Doha, to honor the
\nremarkable life and enduring legacy of the esteemed academic, scholar, and
\nintellectual giant, Professor Khurshid Ahmad, who passed away recently. The
\nevent brought together a distinguished assembly of scholars, students,
\ncolleagues, and admirers, all united in their reverence and admiration for a
\nvisionary whose pioneering contributions to Islamic economics, transformative
\nrole in education, and profound influence on political thought in Pakistan and
\nbeyond have left an indelible mark on generations to come<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Organized
\nby Haqa e Ahbab Qatar, the event featured heartfelt speeches, prayers, and
\nreflections on Professor Ahmad’s vast contributions. Attendees remembered him
\nnot only as a pioneering scholar but also as a mentor, visionary, and advocate
\nfor ethical and equitable development<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

One
\nof the distinguished speakers, Dr. Iqbal, reflected on the academic journey of
\nthe late Professor Khurshid Ahmad, emphasizing that his pursuit of education
\nextended far beyond the mere attainment of degrees. Rather, he embodied the
\ntrue essence of learning by applying his knowledge to every aspect of his
\npractical life\u2014a fact clearly reflected in the way he lived. Dr. Iqbal noted
\nthat Professor Khurshid never allowed age to become a barrier in his relentless
\nquest for knowledge. Throughout his life, his unwavering commitment was to the
\nestablishment of a truly Islamic society, firmly grounded in the principles and
\nteachings exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professor
\nAhmad was best known for his role in shaping intellectual discourse on Islamic
\neconomics. As a founding member of the Islamic Foundation in the UK and a key
\nfigure in Jamaat-e-Islami, he influenced generations of thinkers and
\npolicymakers. His writings and lectures continue to serve as foundational texts
\nin the field<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking
\nat the event, Mr Nadeem Quraishi and Mr Zahid Awan and Dr. Iqbal , a close
\nassociate and former students, said, \u201cProfessor Khurshid Ahmad\u2019s academic
\nlegacy is unmatched. His commitment to truth, justice, and moral integrity in
\nall spheres of life is something we must strive to uphold<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nother speakers included Professor Muhammad Saleem, Molana Fayaz Falahi from
\nIndia, and Mr. Raza kareem from Bangladesh<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nobserved. The event concluded with a call to continue Professor Ahmad\u2019s mission

At
\nthe conclusion of the program, Mr. Nadeem Qureshi, President of Halqa-e-Arbab

\npresent to not merely admire his intellectual legacy but to actively embody his
\nvalues in their own lives. He stressed that true tribute lies in carrying

\nand the Sunnah. Mr. Qureshi also expressed profound gratitude to all attendees,
