The scientific conference titled \u201cFiqh of
\nBalance\u201d kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey, under the slogan: \u201cTowards a More
\nBalanced and Prosperous Ummah.\u201d The event is jointly organized by the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars, Sultan Muhammad Al-Fatih Waqf
\nUniversity, and the Waqf of Islamic Scholars, with the participation of a
\ndistinguished group of scholars, researchers, and academics from various Arab
\nand Islamic countries<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The two-day conference (June 21\u201322) aims to
\nreinforce the concept of balance in Islamic thought and practice, transforming
\nthe Fiqh of Balance from a theoretical framework into a practical methodology

In his opening address, Sheikh Professor Dr.
\nAli Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim
\nScholars, affirmed that this conference crowns extensive scholarly and
\nfoundational efforts aimed at establishing the Fiqh of Balance as a
\ncomprehensive way of life that links theory with application across various
\nfields<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He stressed that the disruption of proper
\nbalances\u2014whether in understanding Islamic law or in practical reality\u2014has led
\nto division and civilizational decline. He warned against reducing religion to
\nmere ritualistic practices, disconnected from constructive work, development,
\nand righteous action<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasized that unity, progress, and
\nrevival can only be achieved by returning to the true essence of Islam and by

In a recorded speech, Sheikh Mohamed
\nAl-Hassan Ould Al-Deddo Al-Shanqeeti, Vice President of the Union, underscored
\nthe importance of practically applying the theory of balance in a way that
\naligns with the rapid developments of the modern world. He viewed this branch
\nof jurisprudence as an effective tool for reorganizing thought and life on
\nbalanced and legitimate foundations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Understanding the
\nTexts Requires Methodological Balance<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Professor Dr. Essam Al-Bashir, Vice
\nPresident of the Union and Deputy Head of the Trustees of Al-Aqsa Foundation,
\naffirmed that the Fiqh of Balance is one of the most critical methodological
\ntools for understanding partial texts within a comprehensive and integrated
\nvision. It protects scholars from intellectual and methodological deviation and
\ncalls for adopting new approaches to address the Ummah\u2019s issues, with the Fiqh
\nof Balance at the forefront<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Absence of
\nBalance: A Cause of Civilizational Decline<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Mr. Abdulwahhab Ekinci, Assistant
\nSecretary-General of the Union, stated that the Islamic reality suffers from a
\nlack of balance in both thought and action. He stressed that this imbalance has
\nbeen one of the key reasons for civilizational deterioration and noted that the
\nconference seeks to fill a significant jurisprudential gap in this vital field<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Ummah\u2019s Crisis

Dr. Abdulmajid Akrout, Head of the
\nConference\u2019s Preparatory Committee, emphasized in his speech that the

Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Jamal, Head of the

\nrenewed jurisprudential vision for dealing with Islamic legal rulings. It does
\nso through an integrated approach that combines deep foundational work with
\nresponsiveness to a changing reality, asserting that the conference represents
