Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, President of
\nthe International Union of Muslim Scholars, praised Russia\u2019s official
\nrecognition of the Afghan government, which has been led by the Taliban
\nmovement since 2021, describing the decision as “wise and moving in the
\nright direction<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.”<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In a tweet on his account on the platform
\n\u201cX,\u201d Al-Qaradaghi said this recognition reflects respect for the will of the
\nAfghan people and a practical acknowledgment of a political and security
\nreality formed by the efforts of the country\u2019s own people, not under foreign
\ntutelage<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He added, “We had hoped \u2013 and still
\nhope \u2013 that Islamic countries would be the first to initiate this recognition.
\nWe have pursued this with a number of leaders and foreign ministers, but today
\nwe renew the call. Time does not wait, and the void will be filled by other
\nforces<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.”<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Qaradaghi called for solidarity and
\nintegration among Muslims instead of postponement and discord, stressing that
\nmutual recognition between Islamic governments and building bridges of
\nunderstanding and respect is the way to face external pressures and attempts at
\nmarginalization<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate
\ngovernment did not come to power on the back of a foreign tank but derived its
\nlegitimacy from its people, their resistance, and its ability to impose
\nsecurity and stability after decades of occupation and chaos<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He concluded his statement by asking,
\n“When will we learn that true recognition begins from within? When will we
\nsupport each other before others decide our fate according to their interests,
\nnot ours? The time has come for the Islamic Emirate to be recognized by the
\nMuslims themselves, not to leave the matter hostage to ruthless international
\ncalculations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.”<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Russia Recognizes
\nthe Islamic Emirate Government<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Russia is considered the first country to
\nofficially recognize the Islamic Emirate government since its takeover of Kabul
\nin 2021, after four years of international anticipation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This step comes amid cautious openness by
\nseveral countries towards the movement without reaching the level of
\nrecognition<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Russian decision is viewed as an
