The researcher and member of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Ahmad Bakar Anyang, succeeded in
\npassing the defense of his doctoral dissertation in Arabic language and Islamic
\nstudies with an \u201cExcellent\u201d grade, in the presence of a number of prominent
\nacademic and religious figures in Senegal.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The defense was held on Saturday, July
\n12, 2025, at the Islamic Institute in Dakar, the location of the Senegal branch
\nof the Islamic University of Minnesota. The researcher defended his thesis
\ntitled: \u201cThe Concept of Islamic Sufism According to Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse
\nThrough the Study of His Book: Kashf al-Albas \u2018an Faydat al-Khatm Abi
\nal-\u2018Abbas.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The defense was attended by His Eminence
\nProfessor Mustafa Sokhn, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and
\nTraining Techniques (FASTEF), and His Eminence Professor Ibrahim Ndiaye,
\nDirector of the Haj Abdallah Niasse Institute in Kaolack, along with a number
\nof scholars and prominent religious figures.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The academic committee was composed of a
\ngroup of esteemed professors:<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

After deliberation, the committee decided
\nto grant the researcher, Ahmad Bakar Anyang, the doctoral degree with an
\n\u201cExcellent\u201d grade, on the condition of making the necessary revisions in
\naccordance with the committee\u2019s observations.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Islamic
\nUniversity of Minnesota, established in 2006, is an independent academic
\ninstitution that offers programs in both religious and non-religious education,
\nin person and online. It grants certificates accredited by official American
\nauthorities and seeks to promote scientific research and academic excellence
\naway from any ideological or political affiliations.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
