Sheikh Dr. Ekrima
\nSabri, preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and member of the Board of
\nTrustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, emphasized in his
\nFriday sermon delivered in the town of Umm al-Fahm in occupied Palestine, the
\nimportance of steadfastness in the face of trials and tribulations facing the
\nIslamic Ummah. He stressed that true faith is manifested in patience and
\nperseverance, not in despair or defeatism<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

His Eminence stated
\nthat the challenges taking place in reality should serve as a motivation to
\nreturn to God, not a cause for frustration or hopelessness. He drew inspiration
\nfrom the slogan of the Prophetic Hijrah: \u201cIndeed, Allah is with us\u201d, which grants
\nthe Ummah a spirit of optimism and hope and reinforces the resilience promised
\nby God to His believing servants<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Sabri added
\nthat Islam is a religion full of glad tidings, and this is one of the prominent
\ncharacteristics of the Islamic Ummah. He pointed out that no matter how great
\nthe tribulations are, they do not justify retreat or surrender. Rather, they call
\nfor reflection on the biography of the Prophet Muhammad<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \ufdfa, <\/span><\/span>who faced the severest
\ntrials with confidence and certainty\u2014citing the story of Suraqah ibn Malik, who
\nwas promised the bracelets of the Persian emperor while the Prophet<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \ufdfa <\/span><\/span>was being pursued during the Hijrah<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

His Eminence called
\nfor adhering to the instructions of the Prophet<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \ufdfa, <\/span><\/span>foremost among them
\ntraveling to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. He emphasized the importance of
\nutilizing children’s school holidays to instill Islamic principles in their
\nhearts and connect them to Jerusalem and its sacred mosque. He encouraged
\nmaintaining spiritual presence (ribat) in the mosque and visiting it despite
\nall obstacles and restrictions<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He concluded his
\nsermon by reminding the audience of a legal (Sharia) ruling which states that
\nwhoever is prevented from reaching Al-Aqsa but prays in its direction will
\nreceive the reward of the prayer and the reward of the attempt. He affirmed
\nthat reviving and maintaining Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious duty upon all
\nmembers of the Ummah and represents the least of faith in this critical stage<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
