\nZionist Occupation Issues a Final Decision to Demolish a Building in Jerusalem

On Wednesday, the
\nZionist occupation authorities handed the residents of a residential building
\nin the Al-Sawana neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem a final demolition order,
\ngiving them no more than three days to fully evacuate it<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The building houses
\napproximately 100 Palestinian residents distributed among 17 families,
\nincluding the family of Sheikh Dr. Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of the blessed
\nAl-Aqsa Mosque, President of the Supreme Islamic Council, and a member of the
\nBoard of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The building was
\nconstructed in 1998; however, the occupation authorities issued the first
\ndemolition order in 2003 under the pretext of \u201cunlicensed construction<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For more than two
\ndecades, the occupation municipality imposed heavy financial fines on the
\nresidents without recognizing the building\u2019s legitimacy or granting the
\nnecessary permits<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Last December,
\noccupation forces raided the building and issued an initial demolition warning,
\nonly to return today with the final decision, marking a dangerous escalation
\ntargeting the Palestinian presence in the holy city<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This decision comes
\namid a systematic incitement campaign against Sheikh Ikrima Sabri by settler
\ngroups, who have publicly demanded the bombing of his home after publishing its
\ncoordinates on social media platforms<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The occupation
\nauthorities have also previously issued several orders to ban him from Al-Aqsa
\nMosque in an attempt to silence him and deter him from fulfilling his religious
\nand national role<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Observers warn that
\nthese practices fall within the policies of Judaizing Jerusalem, emptying it of
\nits original residents, and targeting religious and national symbols in the
\noccupied city<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
