A women-only Qur\u2019an recitation
\ncompetition was held as part of the fourth edition of the educational program
\n\u201cWelcoming Ramadan,\u201d hosted by the city of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia from
\nFebruary 6 to 8, 2026, with broad participation exceeding 400 women from
\nvarious cities across the country.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s
\nQur\u2019an Recitation Competition<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The competition aimed to
\nencourage continuity in learning the Holy Qur\u2019an, improve recitation
\nperformance, and highlight the educational role of Qur\u2019an circles supervised by
\nfemale instructors in local councils, reaffirming the Qur\u2019an as a central
\npillar in faith-based and educational development.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Structured
\nEducational Program<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The \u201cWelcoming Ramadan\u201d program
\nspanned three days in a comprehensive educational format, reflecting a shift in
\nIslamic women\u2019s work from limited seasonal activities to organized educational
\nand pedagogical projects with a clear national impact. The program was
\norganized under the supervision of female teachers affiliated with the Islamic
\nCommunity of Croatia, within an educational vision focused on early preparation
\nfor the blessed month of Ramadan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The event witnessed wide female
\nparticipation from several cities, including Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Split, Rijeka,
\nPula, Sisak, Karlovac, Labin, and Umag, contributing to the removal of
\ngeographical barriers and strengthening communication among women within the
\ninstitutional framework of the Islamic Community in Croatia.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Social
\nand Humanitarian Dimension<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to its spiritual and
\neducational aspects, the program played a clear social and humanitarian role by
\nproviding a space for networking and relationship-building among participants,
\nfostering solidarity and mutual support. It also included charitable and
\nsolidarity-based activities that emphasized the connection between educational
\nwork and social responsibility, while reinforcing the values of giving and
\ncompassion.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The fourth edition of the
\n\u201cWelcoming Ramadan\u201d program focused on spiritually and psychologically
\npreparing participants for the holy month through Qur\u2019anic recitations,
\nreligious lectures, and sessions of remembrance and devotional chanting. It
\nreaffirmed the program\u2019s transformation into a comprehensive annual educational
\ninitiative that integrates Qur\u2019anic education, faith-based development, and
\ncommunity-building within the Muslim community in Croatia.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
