Prominent Muslim Organizations, Islamic Scholars and Civil
\nSociety groups from India Issue Joint Statement on Palestine – Call on the
\nIndian government and Global Community to take decisive action against the
\nOngoing Genocide in Gaza<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

New
\nDelhi: In a united appeal, major Indian Muslim bodies, religious scholars, and
\ncivil society collectives have issued a joint declaration on the crisis in
\nPalestine, calling on both the Indian government and global powers to intervene
\nand stop the continuing atrocities in Gaza. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

JOINT
\nSTATEMENT ON PALESTINE<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

We,
\nthe undersigned leaders of Muslim organizations in India, Islamic Scholars and
\nPeace-loving Citizens of India strongly condemn the deepening genocide and
\nhumanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. On behalf of over 200 million
\nIndian Muslims and all peace-loving citizens of our beloved country, we express
\nour unwavering support and solidarity with the people of Palestine. We appeal
\nto the Government of India, international leaders, and people of conscience
\nworldwide to stand against the injustice and take swift action to end the
\ncontinued Israeli aggression. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nrelentless assault on the Palestinian people has taken the form of a brutal
\ngenocide, characterized by systematic destruction of homes, hospitals, schools,
\nand refugee camps. Since October 2023, nearly 100,000 innocent Palestinians,
\nincluding a significant number of women and children, have lost their lives.
\nAlarming reports indicate that 90% of Gaza\u2019s healthcare facilities are either
\ndestroyed or out of service, with only a handful of nutrition centres left to
\nserve over 2 million residents. More than 17,000 children have been orphaned or
\nleft without guardians, and over half a million have been denied access to
\neducation. Meanwhile, thousands of tons of essential food and medical supplies
\nremain blocked at border crossings, and the collapse of water and sanitation
\nsystems has triggered the rapid spread of deadly diseases. Without an immediate
\nend to the blockade, Gaza faces the imminent threat of widespread famine. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ninternational community cannot afford to remain silent. We call upon all states
\nto sever military and economic ties with Israel and back the UN General
\nAssembly\u2019s call to end the illegal occupation. We urge all Muslim-majority
\nnations to put strong pressure on Israel and US to halt this catastrophe. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

India
\nhas historically aligned itself with the oppressed; this is the moment to
\nreaffirm that legacy. We call on the Government of India to honour its
\nlong-standing moral and diplomatic tradition by standing firmly with the
\nPalestinian people in their just struggle. India must denounce Israel\u2019s brutal
\nactions, halt all military and strategic cooperation with it, and actively back
\nglobal efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. We further appeal
\nto the Indian government to champion humanitarian assistance and demand the
\nurgent opening of humanitarian corridors to ensure the flow of essential
\nsupplies – food, water, fuel, and medical aid – to the blockaded civilians in
\nGaza. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We
\ncall on individuals and institutions to boycott Israeli products and companies
\ncomplicit in this genocide. Civil society, educational institutions, and
\nfaith-based organizations must amplify the voices of the oppressed and counter
\nthe propaganda and misinformation being spread about the Palestinian struggle.
\nWe also appeal to the people of India to participate in peaceful and lawful
\nresistance. Solidarity marches, awareness campaigns, academic discussions, and
\ninterfaith solidarity gatherings must be organized to show that the Indian
\nconscience is not asleep. We must also ensure that support for Palestine does
\nnot become a target for state harassment or suppression, and that citizens can
\nfreely express solidarity without fear. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let
\nour voice reflect not political expediency, but the principles enshrined in our
\nConstitution and the moral fabric of our civilization. Remaining silent or
\nneutral in the face of genocide is not diplomacy – it is a failure to uphold
\njustice. Now is the time to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Let
\nour actions be driven by our commitment to justice and our heritage of
\ncompassion. Together, we must speak out to prevent this humanitarian tragedy-
\nbefore irreparable damage is done. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
