The Malaysian people are preparing to hold a large-scale
\nnational rally under the slogan “Malaysia Rises for Gaza” on Friday,
\nAugust 9, at Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square) in the capital, Kuala
\nLumpur. The event aims to denounce the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation
\nagainst Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip and to call for urgent
\ninternational action to stop the genocide.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Dato’ Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz, President of
\nthe Humanity for Gaza (H4G) coalition, stated during a press conference in the
\ncapital:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>“We demand an immediate end to the killing and starvation
\ncarried out by the Israeli occupation, and a total severance of all diplomatic
\nand economic ties with the occupying entity and its allies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.”<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Wan Mohamad called on the United Nations, the
\nOrganization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the international community to
\ntake a firm stand to stop the aggression, stressing that the rally represents a
\nunified voice of the Malaysian conscience in support of the Palestinian
\npeople’s struggle for full freedom and independence.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that all major political party leaders in
\nMalaysia have declared their full support for the rally, affirming that their
\nparticipation sends a powerful message to the world that Malaysia stands united
\nin its support for Palestine.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The organizing committee expects more than one million
\npeople to participate either in person or through digital platforms. The events
\nwill run from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and include a variety of programs, including
\nspeeches by religious, humanitarian, educational, and youth leaders, artistic
\nperformances by Palestinian children residing in Malaysia, as well as awareness
\nsegments and contributions from civil society organizations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza\u2026 and an
\nInternational Failure to Respond<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Coinciding with preparations for the rally, the Israeli
\noccupation continues its crimes in Gaza. International reports indicate that
\nIsrael has closed all border crossings since March 2, 2025, blocking the entry
\nof food and medicine, resulting in a catastrophic famine that has claimed the
\nlives of 134 Palestinians, including 88 children.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

UNRWA confirmed that malnutrition rates among children
\nunder the age of five have doubled between March and June due to the
\nsuffocating blockade.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday, Israeli forces committed another massacre
\ntargeting displaced persons and those waiting for aid, killing 24 Palestinians,
\nincluding 13 who were waiting for assistance, according to medical sources.
\nYesterday, 82 Palestinians were killed\u201449 of them while waiting for aid\u2014and 554
\nothers were injured.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since the
\nresumption of aggression in March, about 9,163 Palestinians have been killed
\nand over 35,000 injured. Since the start of the war on October 7, more than
\n60,000 Palestinians have been martyred, and 147,000 wounded in what is widely
\nviewed as an ongoing campaign of genocide, amid alarming international silence.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
