\nSupporting Gaza is a real test of the legitimacy of Islamic states.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\ncomprehensive boycott of the Zionist entity, opening border crossings, and
\nsupporting the resistance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\nMuslim Scholars: No excuse for negligence before God and history.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Scholars, thinkers, and researchers took part in a
\nspecialized workshop titled \u201cThe Duties of the Islamic State Regarding What Is
\nHappening in Gaza,\u201d held within the framework of the International Scholarly
\nConference \u201cGaza: An Islamic and Human Responsibility\u201d organized by the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars in cooperation with the Waqf of Muslim
\nScholars in Turkey, with the participation of leading scholars and
\nintellectuals.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants affirmed that the events in Gaza today
\nrepresent a true test of the status and moral and political legitimacy of
\nIslamic states, stressing that supporting Gaza is a religious, humanitarian,
\nand historical duty that allows no negligence or delay.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Causes of Government Failure<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The workshop discussed the reasons behind the failure
\nof Islamic governments to fulfill their duty, most notably: subordination to
\nthe Western system, military and economic weakness, absence of popular will,
\nprioritization of narrow interests, Arab and Islamic divisions, in addition to
\nrestrictions resulting from normalization agreements and international
\npressures.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Duties of Governments<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The scholars proposed a set of urgent duties,
\nincluding:<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Taking
\nclear political stances against the occupation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7    
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Cutting
\nties with the Zionist entity and imposing a comprehensive economic and
\ndiplomatic boycott.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Opening
\nborder crossings and providing humanitarian and relief support.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mechanisms of Influence<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The participants also recommended activating scholarly
\nand popular efforts to pressure decision-makers through: influential scholarly
\ndelegations, organized popular movements, leveraging human rights and media
\ndiscourse internationally, and building alliances with active political and
\nsocial forces.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Role of the International Union of
\nMuslim Scholars<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The workshop emphasized the role of the International
\nUnion of Muslim Scholars in forming high-level scholarly delegations to visit
\nIslamic capitals, activating the Union\u2019s political role, strengthening
\npartnership with Al-Azhar, and leading a unifying Islamic discourse that
\nreinforces the centrality of Jerusalem and Palestine in the conscience of the
\nUmmah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The scholars concluded that states, scholars, and
\npeoples share responsibility, stressing that today\u2019s duty requires using all
\nlegitimate means to stop the aggression against Gaza, support the steadfastness
\nof the Palestinian people, and protect Al-Aqsa Mosque\u2014without hesitation or
\ndelay.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
