Istanbul Launches

The Governor of Istanbul, Mr.
\nDavut G\u00fcl, announced a plan to launch 100 courses dedicated to teaching
\nchildren aged 4 to 6 how to memorize the Quran, as part of a comprehensive
\nprogram aimed at enhancing early childhood services and addressing the shortage
\nof nurseries and kindergartens in the city.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. G\u00fcl stated that the courses
\nwill be organized in cooperation with the Turkish Presidency of Religious
\nAffairs, noting that their educational framework aligns with the curricula used
\nin kindergartens under the Turkish Ministry of National Education, with a focus
\non developing fundamental skills and reinforcing educational values.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As part of a broader plan, the
\nprovincial administration intends to establish 100 new nurseries, which will be
\nhanded over to the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services for
\nmanagement, in addition to building 100 new kindergartens. This will bring the
\ntotal number of institutions planned under the initiative to 300 facilities
\ndedicated to early childhood care and education.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

These steps come amid ongoing
\ninvestigations into allegations related to one of the nurseries affiliated with
\nthe Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, following complaints submitted by
\nfamilies in the Ey\u00fcp Sultan district.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The governor emphasized that the
\nrelevant authorities are reviewing compliance with regulations governing
\nnursery operations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The new program aims to
\nstrengthen the educational and social infrastructure for children, providing a
\nsafe environment that combines early care with educational development, thereby
\ncontributing to the advancement of early childhood systems and expanding access
\nto structured education.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
