The Department of
\nIslamic Research and Studies at Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic
\nAffairs, in cooperation with Qatar University\u2019s Ibn Khaldun Center for
\nHumanities and Social Sciences, is set to launch two international conferences
\ntoday, Wednesday, focusing on the Holy Qur\u2019an and the contributions of the
\n\u201cBook of the Ummah\u201d series in enriching Islamic knowledge and culture<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The first
\nconference, held under the motto: \u201cIt guides to that which is most upright\u201d and
\ntitled \u201cThe Qur\u2019an and Human Knowledge: Towards Sound Human Understanding\u201d,
\nbrings together more than 18 scholars from across the Islamic world<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The conference aims
\nto reestablish the centrality of the Qur\u2019an in guiding contemporary human and
\nsocial knowledge, to bridge the gap between Sharia sciences and the humanities
\nand social sciences, and to attract Muslim researchers from various disciplines
\nto derive Qur\u2019anic insights and connect them to today\u2019s intellectual reality,
\nthereby enhancing the Sharia-based understanding of social and human phenomena<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As the first in an
\nannual series dedicated to the Qur\u2019an and human knowledge, the conference will
\nexamine the Qur\u2019an\u2019s impact on shaping four key fields of knowledge: education,
\nsociology, psychology, and economics. It also seeks to encourage both Sharia
\nscholars and researchers in the humanities and social sciences to engage
\nmethodologically with human knowledge and make effective use of it<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The second
\nconference, the First \u201cBook of the Ummah\u201d Forum, is held under the motto: \u201cBook
\nof the Ummah: Enlightened Contributions… Renewed Giving.\u201d It forms part of
\nthe Department of Islamic Research and Studies\u2019 efforts to enhance cultural
\nawareness among contemporary Muslims and guide them in addressing modern
\nchallenges and seizing emerging opportunities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As a strategic
\ncultural project that has spanned over 40 years, the forum highlights the
\ncultural legacy of the \u201cBook of the Ummah\u201d series, reviews its achievements,
\nexamines its methodology, discourse, and ideas, and presents contemporary
\nperspectives on how to benefit from them<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\neight research papers exploring ways to lay new cultural foundations for
\nrebuilding the contemporary Muslim personality in line with Islamic values,

The forum derives
\nits importance from the intellectual and cultural contributions of the \u201cBook of
