\nHosts the First World Conference on “The Qur\u2019an and Human Knowledge”

Doha has launched
\nthe inaugural annual World Conference on “The Qur\u2019an and Human
\nKnowledge” and the first “Book of the Ummah” Forum, organized by
\nthe Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in cooperation with the Ibn Khaldun
\nCenter for Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University, held over two
\ndays<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The opening ceremony
\nwas attended by a number of distinguished scholars and officials, including
\nH.E. Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Undersecretary of the
\nMinistry of Awqaf, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of
\nEducation and Higher Education, and Sheikh Dr. Thaqeel Al-Shammari, Vice
\nPresident of the Court of Cassation, along with a select group of intellectuals
\nand researchers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2726<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>The Qur\u2019an: A Reference for Human Knowledge<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Dr. Omar bin
\nMohammed Al-Ansari, President of Qatar University, stressed that the conference
\naims to build human intellectual awareness in light of the guidance of the Holy
\nQur\u2019an, which serves as a comprehensive civilizational and ethical reference
\ncapable of directing human knowledge across educational, social, economic, and
\npolitical fields<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Sheikh
\nDr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Thani, Director of the Department of Research and
\nIslamic Studies, emphasized that the conference highlights the pioneering role
\nof Qur\u2019anic knowledge in guiding the humanities and connecting researchers to it.
\nHe also shed light on the legacy of the “Book of the Ummah” series,
\nlaunched more than four decades ago, which has contributed to shaping
\ncontemporary Islamic and intellectual awareness<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Badran bin
\nLahsan, Director of the Ibn Khaldun Center, explained that the conference seeks
\nto “bridge” between various sciences to address human issues in an
\nintegrated manner, and to “localize” contemporary knowledge and
\ntheories in line with the society\u2019s religious and cultural identity<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2726<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>Conference Objectives and Themes<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The conference works
\nto affirm the centrality of the Holy Qur\u2019an in shaping contemporary
\nintellectual discourse through four main themes: educational sciences, social
\nsciences, psychology, and economics. The scientific sessions presented 19
\nresearch papers focusing on utilizing Qur\u2019anic guidance in addressing human and
\nsocial issues<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the
\n“Book of the Ummah” Forum discussed, through eight research papers,
\nthe role of this intellectual series in reshaping the Muslim personality,
\nrenewing intellectual and cultural awareness, and developing an elite capable
\nof facing contemporary challenges<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The first day of the
\nconference featured dialogue sessions that explored the relationship between

\nconcepts, and offering Qur\u2019anic alternatives to traditional psychoanalytic
\ntheories, in addition to addressing societal issues such as ego inflation and
\ncontemporary awareness<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
