In a rare and
\nheartwarming scene not seen in over two years, 406 brides and grooms gathered
\non Thursday in the Gaza Strip to participate in a mass wedding organized by the
\nTurkish \u201cRibat\u201d Association, bringing smiles back to the faces of Palestinians
\namid the destruction and rubble left by the Israeli genocide war that erupted
\nin October 2023<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The large-scale
\nceremony was hosted in the town of Al-Zawayda, bringing together 203 grooms and
\n203 brides in cold winter conditions, symbolizing hope and life amid the harsh
\nreality imposed by the war, which claimed more than 70,000 martyrs and left over
\n171,000 injured, alongside widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel Fattah
\nAl-Namla, the media coordinator of the \u201cRibat\u201d Association in Gaza, said the
\nevent aimed \u201cto paint smiles and bring happiness to the youth striving to
\nrevive life in Gaza, despite the occupation\u2019s attempts to spread messages of
\ndespair and pain.\u201d He added that the wedding represents \u201cthe first of new joys
\nand a beginning of restoring hope from beneath the rubble<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Namla emphasized
\nthat the message of the ceremony is clear: Gaza is still livable and
\nsustainable, and Palestinians, despite losing their homes and loved ones,
\nremain committed to their right to joy and stability<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He confirmed that
\nTurkey, through the \u201cRibat\u201d Association, has continued to provide humanitarian
\nsupport to the Strip over the past two years, ranging from food and water to
\nprograms covering children, youth, displacement camps, and shelter<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Among the grooms,
\nMohammad Shalabi expressed a mix of joy and sorrow, saying, \u201cThe pain is
\nimmense and the loss is heartbreaking, but today\u2019s happiness shows that we love
\nlife, and our will cannot be broken.\u201d He stressed that the message to the world
\nis that the people of Gaza are resilient and strong, and that smiles still
\ngrace people\u2019s faces despite all the bombing and destruction they have endured<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For her part, bride
\nWaad Al-Shafie described her participation in the wedding as \u201ca new beginning
\nof hope after two years of harsh living,\u201d emphasizing that the joy gave them
\nstrength and determination to continue and rebuild Gaza. She expressed deep gratitude
\nto Turkey for supporting Palestinians and bringing happiness back into their
\nlives<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This mass wedding
\ncomes at a time when the Gaza Strip continues to face severe humanitarian
\nchallenges, including an ongoing blockade and shortages of basic necessities.
\nYet, Palestinians insist on creating moments of joy whenever possible,
\naffirming that hope and life can emerge even from beneath the rubble<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
