The Qatari Ministry
\nof Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Da\u2018wah Department and in
\ncooperation with the Mosques Department, has launched the third edition of the
\n\u201cAsaneed\u201d Program for the years 2025\u20132026, with the participation of 50 imams
\nand muezzins. The program aims to grant them certification in the recitation of
\nHafs \u2018an \u2018Asim through an unbroken chain of transmission reaching back to the
\nProphet Muhammad <\/span>\ufdfa<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The launch of the
\nprogram comes as part of the ministry\u2019s ongoing efforts to elevate the Qur\u2019anic
\nperformance of imams and muezzins and to strengthen the authentic methodology
\nof Qur\u2019anic learning based on direct oral transmission and verified chains of narration.
\nThis approach ensures the quality and precision of recitation in accordance
\nwith the established rules recognized by scholars of Qur\u2019anic recitation,
\nreflecting the ministry\u2019s commitment to caring for the Holy Qur\u2019an and serving
\nthose who work in the houses of Allah.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cAsaneed\u201d
\nProgram is considered a distinguished educational initiative that seeks to
\nteach participants the Qur\u2019anic readings and grant them formal certification
\nwith connected chains of transmission to the Messenger of Allah <\/span>\ufdfa<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>. This
\ncontributes to correcting Qur\u2019anic performance, enhancing the standard of
\nrecitation, and ensuring the accurate application of tajweed rulings based on
\nrecognized principles of transmission.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nApplicants\u2026 Selecting the Elite<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Da\u2018wah
\nDepartment had opened registration for the program on November 24 for a period
\nof one week, witnessing strong interest, with approximately 600 imams and
\nmuezzins from across the country applying.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Following the close
\nof registration, admission tests were conducted before five specialized
\ncommittees at Hamad bin Nasser Al-Misnad Mosque in the Hazm Al-Markhiya area
\nfrom December 7 to 11. Applicants were evaluated according to approved academic
\ncriteria, including accuracy of memorization, quality of recitation, and
\nmastery of tajweed rules.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The results of the
\nexaminations led to the selection of the top 50 imams and muezzins to
\nparticipate in the program, which will run for six months and conclude on June
\n11, 2026.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Six Months of Connected Qur\u2019anic Instruction<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Da\u2018wah
\nDepartment was keen to select 10 qualified and specialized scholars to oversee
\nthe Qur\u2019anic instruction in this edition, all of whom hold certifications in
\nthe ten Qur\u2019anic readings. They were distributed according to geographic
\nregions within the country to facilitate participants\u2019 regular attendance in
\nrecitation circles and to enhance the efficiency of program implementation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of
\nAwqaf and Islamic Affairs affirmed that the \u201cAsaneed\u201d Program embodies its
\nvision of caring for the Holy Qur\u2019an and its people, and reflects its
\ncommitment to developing da\u2018wah competencies and raising the academic and
\nperformance standards of imams and muezzins. This ensures the delivery of a
\nsound religious message grounded in connected knowledge, a moderate
\nmethodology, and precise performance.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The continuation of
\nthe program into its third edition underscores its success in achieving its
\nobjectives and represents a practical translation of the ministry\u2019s efforts to
\ninvest in human capital, elevate the role of the mosque, and strengthen the presence
