Muscat \u2013 The
\nMinistry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman has concluded
\nthe preliminary rounds of the \u201cFastamsik\u201d Quran Memorization Competition, which
\nwitnessed the participation of approximately 170 contestants from various age
\ngroups<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The competition aims
\nto promote care for the Holy Quran and support Quranic schools, which are
\nregarded as beacons of knowledge and faith. It also seeks to highlight the
\nefforts of endowment institutions and inform the public about their
\ncontributions to serving the Quran and developing their Quranic, endowment, and
\nscholarly products<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, the
\ncompetition strives to prepare participants for local and international Quranic
\ncontests with high proficiency, while fostering a spirit of noble faith-based
\ncompetition among Quran memorizers, thereby enhancing values of sincerity and diligence<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The competition
\nprovides an encouraging educational environment to increase the number of
\nlearners and those interested in studying the Quran. It includes honoring
\noutstanding participants in memorization, recitation, and interpretation, as a
\nrecognition of their efforts and as motivation for others. Moreover, it
\nencourages Omani youth to engage deeply with the Quran\u2014through memorization,
\nunderstanding, and contemplation\u2014so they may serve as role models in ethics and
\ngood deeds<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The preliminary
\nrounds were organized in five judging centers across several governorates:
\nDhofar, Al Buraimi, North Al Sharqiya, Al Dakhiliya, and Muscat. The
\ncompetitions were marked by seriousness and discipline, with judging committees
\nensuring the highest standards of accuracy and fairness in evaluation, in line
\nwith the competition\u2019s goals of nurturing Quranic knowledge and encouraging its
\nmemorizers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Judges praised the
\nremarkable level of the participants, affirming that the first edition of the
\ncompetition reflects a growing awareness of the importance of memorizing the
\nQuran and mastering its recitation, especially among the younger generation,
\nwhich represents a positive indicator for the future of the competition in
\nupcoming editions<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\nexpressed their appreciation for the well-organized event and the smooth
\njudging procedures, noting that their participation provided a motivating
\nexperience that strengthened the spirit of positive competition and connection
\nwith the Quran<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The results of the
\npreliminary rounds and the names of those advancing to the next stage are
\nexpected to be announced soon, paving the way for the final stages of the
\ncompetition, with plans to expand its scope in future editions in terms of the
\nnumber of participants and judging centers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
